Good win pity they couldn't play like this during the main part of the season or when the pressure was on towards the end. No pressure today but perhaps a few looking to enhance themselves in the end of the season shop window -or am I just a cynical old brummie

SC and TW appear to have done it….arrived at a team and system that can genuinely compete at this level.  That is a real achievement, considering the low performance level they came from.  What a pity it took so long.  Fingers crossed they are both here next season, and that they can increase our goal-scoring potential, enough to make a real challenge for promotion,

Now lets hope lessons have been learnt, and that solid foundations are put in place for the future rather than trying to build something on sand and a quick fix. Hopefully the Club management don't get carried away and try to do too much too soon.

Personally I'd rather go for long term sustainability, even if it means remaining at step 2 for a couple of seasons, and not go for a "flying by the seat of your pants" promotion push, with all the dangers that could involve (and I understand that's a difficult balancing act).

I don't know what our financial state is compared to other Clubs at step 2, but with that 500k loan to service I think its fair to say the Club has a financial hole to dig itself out of. Our gates next season should be higher than many of our competitors but unless they have got similar debts to service, the income we generate compared to many of them will be nullified.

A couple of seasons of consolidation will also give the new Sales Director a fighting chance. He/she has probably got a tougher job than Tommy has! Hopefully the person that takes this on will also be given the chance to prove what they can build, and not be judged on the results after only two or three months in the job. There's lots of bridge building to do there if its going to be a success.

FOTL and Trust now working together, and that appears to be mainly down to the new blood on the FOTL committee, and joint ventures no longer being blocked from that quarter.

Lots to look forward to, despite the relegation.

On getting promotion to National League North, I believe that IC's first aim was not to get relegated and expected to take a couple of seasons to 'consolidate' Lynn's status at the level, reassessing after every 10 games.

In some ways, the impact of the Covid PANdemIC has taken Lynn back to where this plan could be implemented again.

Agree with all of the above, hopefully the more positive end to the season (relegation was always likely when TW joined with only Aldershot's mid season collapse taking things this late in the season) will encourage SC to schedule in another fans forum.  He has always gone for the quick fix option and encouraged the 'EFL dream' but maybe having had his fingers burnt by two 'difficult' years in the NL, if more fans turned up with comments like those expressed above we might take a different path, appreciate SC might still want to do his own thing, his way but maybe he he will see this as an opportunity to reset.

Your hope maybe well founded  I just cannot see any kind measure from the past that leads you to that conclusion.   If anything quite the opposite.  Look at the numerous false dawns that have been put out there in the past.  Have a read of the programme notes, a listen to the podcasts.  It does paint a sorry picture.

I agree with Mallard.i think the club are in dire straits financially and lack of real assets on the playing side. Unfortunately I can see next season being a real struggle on the field and can only hope the club tries to reconnect with many disillusioned fans. The lack of communication and interaction with the fans has been shocking

Mall, you know what they say - 'it's the hope that kills you'.  In all seriousness, you may well be right and I know of plenty who think the current regime is incapable of change and I don't think B&G or myself have concluded that any, let alone all, of the necessary changes will definitely happen, merely that we hope some do. 

From a personal point of view, the biggest change the club could make, at least in the short term, is developing a better relationship with the fanbase.  This doesn't need to be seats on the board (because there isn't a board) but there are plenty of recommendations in the Crouch report and good practice elsewhere in football (at our level) to draw upon that would benefit both the club and fans.
