.Michael Gyasi has signed for Chesterfield.  No mention of the fee but he had another year on contract. Tommy Widdrington said MG was not happy at Lynn.

GYASI DEPARTS FOR CHESTERFIELD

Ollie KeableJune 18, 202212:00 pm

King’s Lynn Town FC can confirm that Michael Gyasi has left the club and will be joining Chesterfield FC.

The 21 year old spent the second half of the season at Dover scoring an impressive 5 goals including a hat-trick against Wrexham. Gyasi joined the Linnets form St Ives Football Club back in December 2020.

Speaking about the transfer Manager Tommy Widdrington said “Michael, along with others, had very little or no experience of 1st team football at our level,  or even the one below when I arrived and it was felt a period on loan where he’d be guaranteed game time was the best option for both Michael and the club. This should be viewed as the right decision,  as Michael indeed got plenty game time and was assured he would be given a chance to play here on his return in pre-season. Michael made it very clear to me that he feels he is not appreciated here at Kings Lynn,  so once a deal was made between the two clubs it was sensible for all parties to move on. I and Everyone here at Kings Lynn thank Michael for his efforts and wish him all the very best going forward”.

Everyone from King’s Lynn want to wish Michael all the best for his future.

Sad, never given a chance at Lynn, all the time we were struggling to score goals.
Can't blame him for leaving. :sinking:

Another one gone and who can blame him never given a real chance, as least we won't have to worry about him scoring against us next season!

Gyasi, Taylor both with some justification, feeling unappreciated..it is becoming something of a recurring theme?

Isn't that why football clubs employ coaches?

Looking at a Chesterfield Newspaper site it seems there were a few other Clubs in for MG.  Hopefully Lynn did well out of it and turned it into a form of a ‘Dutch Auction’.  Thou again in the same report there seems to be some doubt if Chesterfield actually had to pay a fee for him.

All well and good these press releases about players leaving,  when are we going to see some excitement with players coming in ?  What actually is Tommy doing, sunning himself on a beach somewhere ?

C’mon Tommy, where are you ?  Let’s be having you

Sometimes Newspapers get it wrong!  :dontknow:

Chesterfield forum has an interesting comment.

Sounds like the lad has some serious questions that will need answering.   Sounds like he will remain on Lynn books until this matter is cleared up
