FotL EGM
« on: July 22, 2022, 12:30:00 PM »
Unfortunately there are still outstanding items from this weeks Annual General Meeting that now need to be addressed at an Emergency General Meeting.  This is to be held at the Cafe at the Walks on Thursday 4th August at 6.30pm.

The only items on the agenda are:
   *  July & August 100 Club draws
   *  Indication on what the membership would like to see the spend the balance of funds on as per the FotL Constitution - 9.1 In the event that the Supporters club were to wind up.  Any money left in the account would be used to purchase equipment and donate it to King's Lynn Town FC.

We will obviously be working with the club to get ideas for what they would like the funds to go towards but would also welcome ideas from members, even if they are unable to attend the EGM.

Apologies if you are a member of the FotL and you have not received a personal invitation to the EGM but I don't have contact details (email/mobile) for all members, if you are in this group please feel free to send me a pm.

I'm not a member of fotl, just an interested outsider, may I ask why there's an egm been called so close to the agm ?

The agenda for the AGM included a motion to close down the FotL, unfortunately the meeting was abandoned before completing all the agenda items due to a number of factors, including the resignation of the majority of the committee.  The organisation has effectively ceased but an EGM is required to tidy up those loose ends that weren't dealt with at the AGM.

Why did the committee walk out en-mass ?   Did this include Malc as Chairman who was going to do such great things as the leader?

Shocked at this.  Can I ask why people walked and where does this leave a club supporters group ?   I guess also this can’t be great news for Steven Cleeve.   I guess the FOTL handed over £000’s to him since he took over the Club.  Will the 100 Club still continue or if it is wound up to all fund raising cease ?

Lots Marcus ?  I counted a couple.

Just so shocked that it could fold after Malc coming on here preaching a brand new future. Surely this can’t be the big news he was advising us of a few weeks back

What's not "proper" with regards to the FOTL's?

It appears to me the only person trying to save the Friends just happens to be a Trust Director.
M A Hill has been royally shafted.
Just glad the Trust is open to scrutiny by its members. Where meetings I have attended are fully  open to all present, including accounts.
Something fishy going on here.
Over to you Loopy.

I will have to correct you there, yes there is a trust director on the FOTL committee. I myself an ex trust director on the committee as well, not so much trying to save FOTL but making sure it comes to an end in the best way possible. Leaving the way clear for a supporters club to be set up instead,a supporters club that can be set up by the fans and be run by the fans. So now all of those people who hated the FOTL and wouldn't join, along with those people who hate the trust and wouldn't join have the perfect opportunity to make something they want! :dontknow:

Griss ... so in what way is the current FOTL not fit for purpose and needs to be wound up ?

...maybe Grissles is not the one to ask. Maybe it’s one for Barry fish to answer as he’s the one who would keep all the records.if the EGM is going to decide where all the money goes maybe he can tell the members where’s it’s gone in the past and how much is left and where it is

Barry isn't on the committee and this years committee could only work with what we had, what has been done in the past has been reported at previous FotL AGMs and I know what they had spent money on was published for some (but not all) of the years that the FotL operated.  I hope the 4th will just be about winding up the FotL in an orderly fashion, what might or not come in the future really isn't part of the meeting as I think this needs to be open to the wider fanbase.

And maybe there will be a vote to retain FOTL as it is and a new set of people step forward to run it? :dontknow:

For us on the outside this all seems very confusing.  Who is the FOTL treasure and have the accounts for the last year been presented and signed off or will this now be discussed and hopefully agreed at the forthcoming EGM ?
