Interesting article.   I wonder how many Clubs out there have done a ‘Wrexham’. ?   As in moving from owners to fan based ownership then back to individual ownership.

There are of course some unscrupulous owners out there, however for balance there are also some genuine, decent owners who run their clubs in a business like fashion. Successfully.

David Newton at Boston for one.  Look at the mess he took on.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Mall, fully accept there are good and bad examples of both fan-owned and 'benefactor' models, I guess the difference for me is that the benefactor model can lead to a more extreme outcome with more examples of 'boom & bust' than under fan ownership, where there seems to be more emphasis on long term sustainability.  I also think fan ownership probably makes a few more appreciate what it takes to run a club, compare the reaction from Lynn fans that BP was looking for more volunteers to this video https://yourclub.darlingtonfc.co.uk/volunteering

Likewise Tony I don’t disagree with what you are saying.  Just that one size doesn’t fit all.  That’s in the professional game and Non League.   For me I’d like to see the best of both Worlds at Lynn.  With no one person or organisation holding more than 49%.

Maybe it will happen one day GC.  Maybe sooner than some might think

People never know what they are capable of until all other options run out.

What would supporters know. :oldman"

All this really shows is how poor the FA is at fulfilling it's regulation role, it has only done this because of pressure from the fan-led review rather than believing that it is the 'right thing to do', sooner there is a proper independent regulator the better.
