  Firstly good luck to KLTFC today, only a short journey up the road for us LINNETS, hopefully there will be many of us in attendance this afternoon to cheer the boy’s on. Hopefully we can out number the home support and turn this into a home game. I feel we really should be looking for the 3 points, to really keep the pressure on at the top of the league. A draw I feel would also be a well earned point as I believe Peterborough will really be fired up for this one.

On another matter how many people actually prefer this level of football as opposed to the next level up ? .  I totally agree you should always strive to play at the highest level possible, however at this level , l believe that the supporters are better connected to the club, more local derby matches, Boston, Peterborough, Brackley, Kettering to name a few, lower cost for the club, the opportunity to ramp up the support with the correct marketing, better sponsorship opportunities with the correct pricing structure and marketing. In my opinion there are many plus points at this level if handled correctly, how do others see this?.

Agreed Dazza  Lots of EFL clubs have been staying at a certain level for years as it suits them Higher attendances, happier fans and a better feeling ( one thing Brackley is hardly a local derby its 97 miles away)

Brackley is a lot closer for Linnets fans than most sides in the National division, Grimsby and Notts County were I believe our LOCAL DERBYS last season.

Think you are on the money with the level we are playing at.   Need to be at a level where we can remain competitive. 

It’s a bit like Norwich.  Fans I’ve spoken to prefer to watch the Canaries in the Championship than the struggle that is the Premiership.

If we do achieve promotion back to the National League we need the finances in place to look for a mid table position rather than struggling around the bottom four.  Anyway five games into the season isn’t the time to be talking about promotion. 

Today’s game. Love to see Lynn take all 3 points but a draw on the road is no bad result.  So going for a 2-2.... Gold and Ponticelli  with Sports goals coming from Fryatt and Gash.

Gash to score, has to be the Stars.

Hey Linnet, Mal has not mentioned anything about Brackley or indeed any other team, it was me, no need to argue over distances, the original Mail was just about more local road trips that people could possibly afford to travel too.

I shall be disappointed if we don’t win this one, although a draw would be acceptable.  Their ex-Linnets were very good at The Walks, but now they are players that were deemed to no longer be at the level required.  Age was the main reason, but I always thought letting Nathan Fox go was a bad mistake.  I advise our defenders to be very wary of his explosive runs and shooting, as he was outstanding in the team that were promoted to the NL.  I also believe that the “Big fish in a smaller pool” mentality is too popular in Lynn, where some enjoy being the “Big Boys” against inferior teams with poorer facilities.  It is understandable, to an extent, but it reduces the point of being in competition.  Great start - sounded on the radio on Saturday that we should have had a hatful, but that’s football.  It’s getting tight at the top, but it’s good to be well involved again.  Draw 1-1, I think, but hope for better.  Still need a goal-scoring nipster !…

Boston might disagree. They like this league so much they have hung around for the last 12 years.

I think the old adage of "build it and they will come" has been proven to be a myth.

Play at the highest level you can afford to operate at. Live within your means.

For one I'd rather watch Lynn be a top team and doing well rather than see us at the bottom of the table in a higher league. Norwich has the same problem, too good in the Championship but not good enough in the Premier League..

Totally agree with you there. Hopefully we can achieve promotion back to national league, but infrastructure needs seriously improving before we can even hold our own at that level.
