Have to think that as the home support basically doubled for the game that there were a good hundred Sports ‘fans’  who came along for a day out.  Maybe the game wasn’t the main thing on their minds?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

This is about more than football. It reflects a part of our society and what some now deem to be acceptable.

Have been attending football matches all my life from 1964 and there's always been banter between opposing fans, players and occasionally managers but it was always fairly good natured even during the 1970s and there were lines which weren't crossed particularly with comments about wives, kids and highly personal stuff certainly not death threats etc.
Sadly those days seem to have gone in some places it doesn't help when you get situations like what appears to have happened at Chester with their staff.
It Will be interesting to see what action they take with the culprit before we visit next Saturday -my guess they will go very little if anything

Peterboro’ Telegraph:

Sports officials declined to comment on Widdrington’s specific allegations as his own behaviour is believed to be the subject of a report from security and a report from the match.
It has been suggested Widdrington threw a ball into the home crowd after the winning goal.
It’s also understood he made no mention of alleged death threats to the police or Sports officials at the game, preferring instead to bring it up with his local paper many hours after his side had won the match.

Hardly hours after the match interviews usually minutes after end of game.

Sounds like a bit of damage limitation exercise in operation by the Peterboro telegraph .
End of the day it Will probably get swept under the carpet though no doubt it Will add a bit of extra spice for the return fixture

If he had been subjected to 90 minutes of continual abuse it’s hardly surprising he said something back when we scored.

Yep, complete B.S. from P.S. Everything was said at 5.15 during the post match interview, and not several hours later to the local paper.

Irrespective to what has gone on during the game, if you take the lead in second half stoppage time and then incite the opposing fans, you know what to expect. The Sports fans were hardly going to applaud Barrett’s goal no matter how good it was. It wouldn’t happen at Lynn, or anywhere, so just put it down to experience. Death threats was just hot air, but if you engage, then you can expect more. Put it behind and move on.

Tommy seems to be fair game.  He got a pint of beer thrown over him at Telford last week
