Bedford at home FA Cup (Setch’s return)
« on: September 15, 2022, 08:24:45 AM »
Must be some interesting thoughts from people on this one.

Just listened to Setch’s thoughts on the game.

1.  Happy cos it’s only 10 mins from his home to the ground.
2.  Free hit for Bedford.
3.  Need to keep the crowd quiet early doors, as if Lynn get one early the crowd will be well up for it and could be a tough afternoon.
4.  If Bedford can stay in the game Lynn fans will turn on the team which will help Bedford.
5. Expecting a few comments, songs etc mentioning pies.
6.  Four figure gate.
7.  Very complimentary about the quality of the Lynn team and Manager

Get the feeling he is well up for it.

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Gary will get the warm welcome he deserves (Alex too).
We are expected to win, but certainly won’t be complacent. If things don’t go our way the fans won’t turn on the team (sorry Gary). The FA Cup always has shocks, but I don’t think that will be the case on Saturday. However, let’s not forget we only narrowly beat Peterborough Sports last season when they were two leagues below us, one more than what Bedford are now.
Attendance-wise, hopefully, Bedford will bring a few, it’s not too far. Whatever the true attendance is, the declared will be different.
Good opportunity to give Barrett some minutes, but we shouldn’t change how we’ve been playing to accommodate him. Can see Stephens and Omotoyo starting and given the fact that Bedford earlier on lost 8 - 1 at home to Tamworth, they could have an enjoyable afternoon.
My prediction is KL 5-1 BT, here’s hoping.

Thoughts? Setchell and the other ex-Lynners will be pumped and their team mates will be too on their behalf. Other than Clunnan, the 'Setch Factor' will be largely wasted on the current Lynn squad. So Bedford will edge the motivation stakes.

Tommy may look to give a start to Barrett, Charles etc who may use it as a chance to prove a point or it may disrupt the successful way Lynn have been playing.

This one has definite banana skin potential in my opinion.

Prediction? There will be less than 22 playes on the pitch come 4.45PM!  :red card:

Attendance may be boosted by some lapsed Linnets, although Heacham are at home so perhaps not.

Should we make it into the hat for the 3rd round qualifying draw, will it be moved from its usual Monday lunchtime slot?

Not fit enough to return yet WLM ?

Think Norwich have WBA at home Saturday 3pm so would guess Radio Norfolk would be tied up on that game ?

Unfortunately not fit enough yet. BP too low to climb those steps to the Stands to sit.
