Squire, on a positive note at least the owner is prepared to engage with you on the subject.

With regard to the Supporters Club you mention is he any further forward with setting up an official one run by the Club or is he more interested in seeing an Independent Group being set up?   Has he mentioned what the £5k in the old groups coffers will be spent on ?

Another supporter also said pricing was too high, Mr Cleeve's response was that he reduced the price of season tickets and general admission this season so the supporter's point was not arguable.

We got relegated, so you'd expect a reduction in ticket price anyway.

I think the damage to the relationship between supporters and club over ticket prices has already been done. I don't think knocking a couple of quid off the ticket price now would make a lot of difference. It would have to be a substantial reduction to have the desired effect (e.g. a fiver), which of course is just not feasible.

I'm not too sure that Mr Cleeve's version of what Barrie said is correct.

Squire, why the interest in the cost of concessions?   :laughcry: :laughcry: :laughcry:

The thing is if SC reduces admission prices it just means he has got to dig even deeper to prop the thing up.   Not only has he to bridge any shortages he has a £500k loan to start paying back at some point.  Is the £1 extra on last years admission still in place this season to start the long slow process of the payback ?

B&G

I'm with you on what Barrie Pierpoint said regarding poor value with regard to season tickets.  Didn't Mr Flannegan who was at the meeting report back and inform the supporter's what was actually said?  My recollection was that the prices had already been fixed and this was Cleeve's doing.

I said before the season started that pricing was going to be critical and this has been ignored again by Cleeve.  As you said he conveniently fails to recognise Lynn were relegated and is thinking he's doing the fans a big favour. It's unbelievable, when I mentioned to him it's laughable that a child is charged £22 to sit in the so called Premier seating he gives an example you wouldn't expect a child travelling first class on an aeroplane to travel at a discount. If he actually sat in the Premier seating he would realise that the view is blocked by posts just like in the wings of the stand.

Again as you said, prices need to be reduced by a meaningful amount not a pidly £2.  He's put himself in an impossible position as any price decrease will impact those who purchased season tickets making them even worse value than they already are.  The time to sort pricing was at the beginning of the season not into the season when he realises fans aren't going to be taken as mugs and vote with their feet resulting in pitiful attendances for a team that currently sit top of the NLN.

Cleeve also fails to grasp that to charge £10 for a child to sit in the wings of the stand is beyond insane.

Cleeve also asked me when was the last time I bought a season ticket.  I informed him that I've never bought a season ticket at Lynn.  I didn't have the heart to tell him that I actually bought one for Bromley for £97 which included having upto six U/11 season tickets absolutely free of charge and also entitles you to sit in the stand at no extra cost should you wish to.  Admittedly this was a special offer after they won the FA Trophy where supporters had 97 hours to buy at that price.  I haven't actually been to a game yet due to either being in Lynn or working, but for £97 i'm not going to out of pocket come the end of the season as I only have to attend 7 games to be in profit.  As you know though Nigel, Lynn is my team but Cleeve offers nothing in the way of incentives for Lynn fans.

On Saturday it's Non League Day, Bromley have reduced their prices for the game against Oldham, £15 Adults £10 Concessions down from £20 and £15 respectively.  Has Cleeve ever done anything like this to show appreciation to the Lynn fans. Well he did drop the price for Bedford by £2 and the gate went up.

Cleeve also said that fans are not bothered if they pay £17 or £20 admission as it's less than a cup of coffee at Costa! It's unbelievable what he says.

Anyway, here's hoping for a Lynn win tonight, i think the prize money is needed, who knows Mr Cleeve might even buy everyone a coffe e at the Kettering tie if they progress.

Was it Bromley who had close to 3500 fans at their game last Saturday ?   If so looks as though they are getting something right.  A lot of people who need feeding and watering as well.

Hopefully when the next Marketing guy off of the conveyor belt joins this month he will be able to show SC what he’s doing wrong and push the gates back up

Squire I don't think he dropped the price for the Bedford game, its the 2 clubs that have to agree the prices for Cup matches. If they can't then the FA do it.

I've been having a bit of a conversation with Mr Cleeve on this subject on the King's Lynn Town FC Supporters Group.  My stance has always been the price he charges for Concessions and Children.  He asked one supporter to name another club that charges £11 admission for Concessions, the same as Boston Utd. I was able to name 15 yes 15 National League North clubs that charge £11 or less!

Mr Cleeve has also denied that Barrie Pierpoint said that Season Tickets were poor value, he said that Pierpoint wanted better value and incentives.  I have asked what better value and incentives as I haven't seen any.

As yet I have received no response from Mr Cleeve. Another supporter also said pricing was too high, Mr Cleeve's response was that he reduced the price of season tickets and general admission this season so the supporter's point was not arguable.  I replied that it was arguable when Lynn are the most expensive side to watch in the NLN.  I challenged him to name a NLN club that is more expensive than Lynn.  Again I am still awaiting a reply.
He seem to think West Norfolk is as wealthy as Chelsea. Only going to lose  more support

As yet I have received no response from Mr Cleeve.

Seems that could be the order of the day.

Apparently Nick Whiley asked what the cost was going to be for advertising on the new scoreboard, but hasn't heard back.

In regard to all the rhetoric regarding our present Chairman, can anybody say who would have done a better job for the club say over the last 30 years.

So who in the past 30 years has taken our club to the point of being over £1 million in debt. What chance at the rate of spend still achieving is that going to be paid back. In respect of the loan thank goodness us taxpayers will swallow that!
