Live Streaming
« on: September 18, 2022, 09:05:50 AM »
Live streaming is coming to the National League for the 2nd half of this season.  Seems like it will be all Saturday games in the National League.  North and South will be phased in.   All 72 Clubs will benefit for funds coming from the one pot of money with the breakdown spilt to be decided.

Thoughts anyone ?

I seem to remember the Chairman being excited about live streaming a couple of years ago, and the opportunity it gives with world wide exposure, so hopefully we could find ourselves a bit ahead of the game with this one.

A good example of getting your product out there. New audience, return of old audience, not just opening the gates and waiting for it to happen.

In a statement issued at 10.30pm on Friday night, the board said it was looking to set up a service to televised “non-televised matches” whilst “also respecting the need to comply with Article 48 restrictions.”
Wouldn't that mean no streaming of Saturday afternoon matches?

Front page of today’s NLP says BT ( who hold the rights) have given their permission and it sounds very much like it’s all systems go for the 2nd half of the season.

“The ambition is to have a fully functioning platform launch in the second half of the season.”

The National League has provided an update on plans for a new streaming platform.

I would guess this could be a main reason why the Chairman has been so keen to retain the services of Reg.

Ahead of the game.
