Chorley at home Saturday
« on: October 04, 2022, 06:15:05 PM »
Maybe a better team that their current League position suggests.

Unbeaten at home, 1 win with 5 draws.  On the road two wins and two loses.  One of the wins was 4-1 at Boston.

As for Lynn maybe a tricky one to try and 2nd guess which way TW will go.  The opposition must be scratching their head trying to work it out.

Will he stick with the three strikers while also fitting Barrett  or revert back to the formula that has seen us achieve top spot in the League ?

I’m going for a 2-1 home win.  Gate ?  888

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

With all the excitement around the discounted pricing for the FA Cup game, the league game this Saturday seems to have gone under the radar although the club do at least have a preview this week https://www.kltown.co.uk/2022/10/07/match-preview-chorley-h/

I think this will be TW's most difficult team selection of the season, how much of last weekend's team retain their places against how much he reverts to the tried and tested XI that has got us over two points per game so far.  My personal thoughts are that Chorley will pose a much stiffer test than a very poor Kettering side so would be happier to see TW switch back to a 3-5-2 formation that has done so well this year but fully accept others will want to see Barrett accommodated after a good performance last week.  My team would be

                    Jones
Crowther, Coulson, Dention (if still injured then McFadden)
Jones, Clunan, Widdrington, Hargreaves, Scott
             Stephens, Ponticelli

I don’t think you will be far off with that team Tony.  However, Gold will start in place of Stevens.

TW could be having an interesting conversation with Barrett though if he leaves him out after singing his praises after last Saturday.

Who would be a Manager.  If he doesn’t win this one then people will be saying he picked  the wrong line-up

I would like to see the same team and formation that beat Kettering. Kettering weren’t great, but they beat us just 4 days earlier. As well as the 6 goals last week, we had something like another 10 or 11 shots / chances.
Would be good to see how it worked again and there is only one way to find out.
Score prediction is KL 3 - 0 Chorley

TW has a tricky game today as Chorley are a decent side.  He does, however, have his easiest selection job of the season so far.  Dillification suggests that last week’s team in its entirety is a must.  If we revert to the stodgier line-up, the team might again be facing those difficult second halves in which we have to come from behind, often with the subs who should have started having only a short period of time to pull us round.  I accept we may not win with our best side - that’s football - but by definition we’ll have a better chance than with a team without the best players in the club.  If Barrett isn’t picked, he ought to consider looking for a higher club…

Forgot to add that Charles ought to come on earlier than the 60th minute, if we are wasting chances, although I don’t think we will with the most attacking line-up.

Look like it is not possible to automatically pull tweets from Twitter.
Sometimes Twitter makes changes but other software writers are slow to react or just unaware.
