Being where we are in the League, we are there to be shot at. Its not going to be easy. I remember the West Auckland game in 98, a very good side, and they bought a lot of support. Very much a football area.

I remember West Auckland too, also Woodford and Parson Drove. That’s the magic of the FA Cup, we have also beaten higher ranked teams too of course, Port Vale only a few years ago.
Tommy wanted a home draw and against the lowest rank side left, so pretty much got just that. We will be massive favourites, but shouldn’t take anything for granted. Ashington are doing well in their league, but it is 3 levels below us.
I would like to see the same starting 11 that played against Kettering in the previous round. It’s great to have the buzz that the FA Cup brings.

Chuck was a great shot stopper but when he saw the size of their defenders approaching our penalty area for a corner, he decided to stay rooted to his line rather than risk getting battered...They had a free header from around the six yard line and scored the only goal?

Yes but Ashington are no West Auckland.  Didn’t they once win the World Cup ( The Thomas Lipton Trophy)?  Beating the likes of Juventus

Not sure if there will be 2000, but with Ashington managing 1400 + in the last round, anything short of that could be seen as a disaster and as you say, would show that something is fundamentally wrong.
