The points made about the UCL gates miss the point that lots of fans in those days liked feeling they were the big fish against virtual village teams.  On the current disappointing gates, no one has mentioned that  Covid will rightly still be having an effect, and, annoyingly the figure is again rising quite rapidly.  It will definitely keep some of the older ones away, even if most think it’s all over, because the Govt want us to think it is.  Having said that, our gates should obviously be a lot bigger.  We have a team at last picked for attacking ability, and the Kettering selection could well win this league.  Good luck in the Cup today - obviously that could be where some decent money can be made…

Malc you are right in that one man should not come between a supporter and his club.  However SC’s continual issue with all things Culverhouse does turn people off.   I saw he had yet another dig at IC in Satu1rday’s EDP.  It’s like he has a personal venother detta against the man.

Not exactly what potential sponsors or even investors want to read, let alone the missing 400 supporters.

Malcolm, as you know, some of these people (and not an insignificant number) have now found otner things to do and other places where they can spend their money. Some are still enjoying their football at other venues, some are now enjoying something new and other than football. It's not them who are suffering or missing out, it's the Club.

Although the ticket price is only one issue, would you mind sharing your thoughts on the subject? I understand that you are a season ticket holder. Would you feel disadvantaged if entry costs are now reduced for league games? After all, it would be in both the community interests (which the Club now seem to be trying to develop links with) and the Club you support.

John, I understand where you are coming from with your comment about people supporting the team, and not individuals. Some obviously think that way, but not all.  Unfortunately the two are intrinsically linked, hence people voting with their feet and the reason behind the missing 300/400 supporters.

If this isn't the case, why was there only 871 spectators watching top of the table Lynn yesterday? Good football to watch, continuing good form and positive results, a Manager that  most supporters are fully behind and one not afraid to communicate with, yet we can only manage what is (for Lynn) a UCL amount of people through the turnstiles yesterday.

871 people supporting the team is just not enough. To progress people need to be happy and be encouraged to support the Club in its entirety.

 

The interesting fact is we were pulling in those kind numbers under an owner ( Buster and his Boy) who basically knew sod all about Football and had limited interest in it.  Yet they did know know how to get people through the door and created a feel good factor around the place.

Maybe the current owner should get on to Buster and see if he has any advice for him on how to pull in the missing numbers.

I think Buster's advice would be "Sell it to some mug".

Where would SC find one of those?  Can’t be many about, can there?  I guess we will find out once the Chairman advises how successful, or otherwise he has been in attracting outside ‘investment’
