Floodlighting Costs
« on: October 11, 2022, 10:46:30 AM »
Just a thought - with the spiralling costs of electricity etc plus BST ending very soon surely it must be worth considering changing all Saturday kick-off times for non-league clubs to 1pm ? Games should be over by 3 and therefore no need to switch on the floodlights.

I think some teams are going to trial this, mainly to see the effect on attendance? :dontknow: Maybe a time to look at the feasibility of solar panels? :dontknow: :bankrupt:

Makes Perfect sense to kick off at 1pm or even midday  No floodlighting costs  people can leave the ground in the Light get home in a sensible time all for it

Obviously early kick offs would depend on how far and what time the visiting club would have to leave.

i appreciate that it might depend on how far they have to travel. But if we are to believe that    power cuts this winter at certain times do happen  i wonder what time Kickoffs will actually happen just  a thought

get 30 businesses, all chip in a grand each and I'll get rid of the clubs daytime energy bills for 8-10 months of the year, for the next 40 years.  Energy saver and income generator.

Other installers are available.

Maybe the Trusr could kickstart their ground improvement fund to help? :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :bankrupt:

That money is still in the bank,as soon as it is possible then it can be allocated to something. Scoreboard money would have been better put towards it? :dontknow: :bankrupt:

as a contributor to The Blue and Gold Trust, I'm in favour of this.  And in the summer, the club would have virtually zero bills for a community café, bar,   kids ply scheme, corporate events etc.  Zero daytime energy costs.

So, something far more important than some of the things that been mentioned
that is the Disabled toilet which has leaking roof that is where the 5,000 could
be used towards. I understand the estmate is 7,000 it has not been usable
for able 12 months. I thinks its about somebody got there heads together with
our owner and got the job done I believe that is what suppers club is for or late
S club, the fund would then be cleared no worrys about what to with the money
any more

So how much progress has been made in deciding on what is happening with this £5k?   Surely it doesn’t need to take this long to decide what it is to be used for.

Also has a new Supporters Club been formed either independently or by SC as an official one ?

Maybe Malc Hill could advise on both issues

I think. Fixing the toilets is a good idea I will put that forward ,has for starting a new Surporters club I thought someone would have come forward but no one has ,in hind sight my personal idea was just to change the name, but now I think it’s time to move forward and form a new Surporters Club we will come up with a date of a meeting to try and make this happen

well said Malcolm.Lets hope that the person holding on to the 5k agrees with it so it can happen

The money held at the moment in the FOTL account and the formation of a new supporters club will be two separate issues. For my mind it should be spent on improving the disabled access, whether that is the toilet or in general. I always thought the toilets were leased, therefore maintenance is done by the company?
