.Admin, what is the future of the Live Feed? You referred on Saturday that there is/was a problem with Twitter.

The live feed has demised.
Firstly, there appears to be a problem with the software which no longer automatically pulls in the tweets - some kind of technical bug either with the software company or Twitter.
Secondly, there is the cost to the Trust which, as it is paid in dollars, has increased because of the sinking value of the pound.
A real shame as, with less coverage from Radio Norfolk, the live feed was getting audiences of over 200.
It might be possible to just pull in tweets to appear on the site without the user interaction from people like yourself but this week is not a good week for looking at alternatives as I have a stage lighting job on.
The score update service will run on Saturday but not sure about anything else.
Thanks for your help over the years, Mike.

Could there be a way that people could donate towards a fund to keep the live feed going? Auntie Doris might stump up a few quid? :dontknow: :bankrupt:

That is up to the Trust.
Donations have been requested before but the trouble is it becomes all too frequent.

just a thought, maybe if all those that watch the live feed(myself included)could join the trust and maybe the trust could use the new subscriptions to pay for the live feed for the use of members only.

there are many reasons I joined the trust,  the live feed was the icing on the cake.  When it first started,  myself and Matt 'The Tea Boy' Lane and Wayne (where's he gone) would do the updates.  They would commentate and I would write.  Three seasons we did that and loved it.  Both the banter and that we were delivering the news, live.

Mike has sat in the stands for over 5 years now doing the same and delivering shot by shot updates which keeps the stay-a-ways like me updated without having to scroll through the twitter thing.

I would be disappointed if we couldn't come up with something.  Not sure what regs say now-a-days due to increased media sponsorship within the leagues, but i see no technical reasons why a live stream or updates can be done, just using a different format or platform.  Not a fan of FB myself,  but a simple page set up for an event could do the job,  or those who can,  set up a twitter account and just follow the sports reporters like Greg, Gavin, YLP sport feed and a few others and at least you have the live stuff.  This can be done free of charge,  but tbh,  this season in particular, the clubs twitter feed has raised it's game a few notches and is a better source of updates for most games.

Me and the Mrs  run the @kingslynnlive twitter feed so try and update all local games on Saturdays, but that is sporadic due to work and family commitments but we do offer all local teams who use twitter a wider reach (about 5,500 local followers)  that's parks as well as non league teams.      Not sure what the solution here is,  and would love to help keep people informed, but from afar for reasons many are aware of.

On Thursdays, at around 9pm, 40 YLPs arrive at my place. I distribute for the village.  I get the read the back pages before most.  I'm a twice weekly Lynn News man. The online e-edition is excellent on a decent sized screen fyi.  The occasional EDP saturday edition goes down well as well.  There's plenty of ways to stay up to date on top of lurking as I do on the forum.

Re attendance. Nowadays, too busy.  Originally, stopped going after the chairman used his programme notes to chat**** about me, Gary Setchell and Gav.  They both buried the hatchet but cleeve as of yet hasn't made a public apology so he gets bugger all from me.

My sponsorship/ support goes elsewhere. Downham, Swaffham and the mighty Watty Boys.
So I'll just keep tuning in, doing what I do online and chipping in if there's a need.

When my sons were playing basketball, I did as any dad does and tagged along.  Helped on the committee and 'got stuff done' but that was 5 or 6 years ago now.
