Great win, hard game. Banbury are the best side to visit the Walks

Banbury were decent to be fair, could have scored a few. Our first didn't look like a corner either to me. Got the job done though and 3 points none the less  :scarf:

Just had a listen to TW’s post match interview.   Seems he wasn’t best pleased with Coulson’s performance in terms of defending.  Despite scoring twice could McFadden be getting a run out Saturday ?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

thought Coulson played ok  and the rest of the team -  if Banbury  had taken there chances  early on they would have buried us. Best game i have seen  for a long time by our keeper. roll on  the weekend. i imagine doncaster arnt looking foward to playing us in the cup

Maybe its a Geordie thing. I remember another Manager from up there that used to say the same thing about Ginola.   :laughcry:

Just listened to the interview with the Banbury Manager.  Where is all this noise coming from about the Kings Lynn Budget ?  According to the Banbury boss our bench costs more per week than his whole squad.  At least I think that’s what he was saying.

Well, it was once mentioned that there would be lots of ex football league players on £400 a week, looking for clubs.

Maybe he's been successful in recruiting some of those!

Then again maybe there is a reason why these ex League players are playing for £400 a week

Maybe he meant that Barrett should be paid as much as his whole squad!

I do wonder if Clubs are already knocking on the door re Barrett.   I wonder what figure the Club would find acceptable.   The Banbury boss described him as the best player in this League.   Now he’s got himself fit then we should enjoy him while we still can.

Very pleased people are now aware of the importance of Barrett, or any other skill-nipsters, instead of hearing things like “maybe  bring Barrett on if the opposition start to tire”!

Takes many different ingredients to make a Christmas Cake, Dilbert.  You need strong competitive midfield players who can win first and/or 2nd ball and put their foot in by breaking things up

I think most (obviously not all) will agree that Barrett was carrying a bit of timber at start of the season. I think that Tommy  managed that situation very well and I for one won't disagree with his decisions on how he should use him.

Now he's looking a lot leaner I would guess he'll start more. The down side is if he now feels that he should be back playing football league, and if a bigger club comes knocking. If a decent offer comes  in, I can't see the Chairman declining the opportunity to cash in on him.

It will be interesting to see what position the new signing(s) we are expecting plays.

Mallard - It actually doesn’t!  “2nd balls” only exist regularly from teams that are no good at “1st balls”!  It’s all made up crap to sell the “Premier League”, as though that is highly technical and way ahead!  I base my philosophy on Fabregas’s subtle criticism of our game with.. “I’m not strong, Iniesta isn’t strong, Xavi isn’t strong, Messi isn’t strong”.  If the first ball is right, the second won’t come into it!  But it’s all opinions, so good luck to your team, and mine, vs Gloucester.
