Sat Gloucester away
« on: October 27, 2022, 08:44:14 AM »
How do we see this one playing out ?

Gloucester seem to be a free scoring as ourselves at home having notched 16 goals on their home patch.   However they have been turned over twice there.

Will TW go for the same starting 11 or ‘release’ Gold into the game after having him sat on the bench for two games ?

With Tommy you can never tell what line up he will go with.  Maybe a surprise or two in the starting 11.

I’m going for a decent point with a 2-2 result

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

With Gloucester sitting 5th, which would have been 2nd had they not conceded late in the game on Tuesday, this looks to be another big test for us. We’ve had 5 consecutive home games, all wins and scoring 16 with just 3 conceded, certainly will go their with confidence.
I don’t think we will dominate like we have at home, so I expect Tommy will have his team set up to manage that. Barrett is in excellent form, so I would expect him to start. Up front, I would keep Ponticelli, he has pace and is work rate is very good. As for Gold, having not started the last couple of games, I would be surprised if he does for this one. I wonder why Gold has been dropped, he isn’t injured and I don’t buy into ‘giving him a rest’. His work rate is good, but for a number 9, historically he hasn’t scored enough.
Score prediction - Gloucester 1 - 1 KL.

Gold is our leading scorer this far.
Will be another tough game,  formation?
Only Tommy knows!  😀
Would be happy to come away with a point.

Just listened to the Gloucester Managers pre match interview.  Seems plenty of injury worries there.  Said he had watched Lynn and they are well ahead of where he is with Gloucester and would be happy to Nick anything he could

Gloucester has lost three top players who score goals. Going for 2.0 win for the Linnet's  :scarf:

Good luck to TW & SC vs Gloucester. Pundits can talk for hours before a game, then abandon everything they’ve yakked about after half an hour and just go for “getting the crosses in the box”!  I’m just glad that TW appears to have clicked on to picking an attacking team that is up their end more than they are up ours!  And now sees the advantage of  playing Barrett from the start, instead of bringing him on when it may be too late.  TW appears to be able to notice and analyse what’s happening in front of him perhaps more than Steven Gerrard could!  If he picks a team largely like the one that demolished Kettering, (and every team since), Dillification predicts 3-1 to The Linnets… if he goes all “Chess”, then 2-1 to Gloucester.  COYL!…..

Just frustrating that some BBC Radio stations are able provide commentary every week and others don't.

Radio Lincolnshire seem to carry Boston games. I would even pay for commentary.
