I really can't see why season ticket holders (who buy season tickets to watch league games, not cup), should be prioritised over people that pay on the gate on the day.

This could also potentially penalise the "new fans", that the club are trying to attract. How can they attract them if they can't get a ticket?  :dontknow:

It shouldn't be about "rewarding" season ticket holders. I would think that one of the main difference between them and supporters that pay on the day, is that one group can afford the up front cost and the others can't.

It could be said that its not a reward for some but is more a penalty for others.

I can understand the thinking behind this being done for Club members.

Part of the reason B&G is that the club use over £30000 of up front money to sign and pay players before the season starts and in the early weeks before gate money kicks in

I think everyone is aware of how useful the sale of season tickets are, although I can't see that's got anything to do with the matter that's being discussed.

How do you prove how many games you have been too? I have been to most games this season,many away,I pay cash o the gate how can I prove it? Season ticket holders who can afford a lump sum and watch only home games from their comfy seats get preference! :dontknow: :argue: :banghead;

Think the title Season Ticket Holder says it all. They should get preference as the have paid for ALL League Home games, whether they attend or not. STH don't get entry to Away games, they pay just like others.

Could be wrong but I thought when the linnets played Oldham which was also televised the maximum gate was set at 5500.  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Was the gate not under 5,000?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Back in the day and I am going back, the capacity was given as 20,000. I believe the current capacity is 5,300 plus some odd number. But yes, it was a full house v Oldham at 5,444 as earlier post said.
I’m confident it will be a similar figure for Stevenage. Yes, I know you can watch it on the TV for nothing, but everyone would rather be at the Walks. You won’t get the atmosphere from your sitting room. I’m sure Stevenage will sell their ticket allocation too, it’s not very far to travel.
With a 12:45 kick off, it is less likely that floodlights would be needed, unless it’s foggy of course. Do you remember, we had to have special floodlights brought in for the Oldham game, for the TV, yes I know it was an evening game.
I think this will be a sell out, and hopefully all regular fans get a ticket. Could always have a fanzone in the park and throw beer about when we score😄

A train strike is planned for the 26th which might impact upon away support?

Is this really going to be a sell out or is there going to be plenty of tickets available ?   Having it live on the box will have an affect ?

I did wonder that.

Not sure what the answer is to that one.

My thoughts exactly.  Money is still tight for many.
A family of 4can sit round the telly and watch for free,  compared to around £50 entrance.
Still think there will be a good turnout, 2500-3000.
Would be more if kids for a quid, or even free with an adult.

I agree Jesus , imo I personally think we’re ( the loyal regulars)  are worrying about missing out on this one  , Stevenage will get 800 , if there’s 200 members STH all buy 6 that’s 1200 so there’s still 2500 to others  , not that many turned up for Walsall last season and some of the bigger games to . I think 3631

I thought I’d treat me and mine to a Hospitality package for the Stevenage game.  That was until I went to book it.   The price a staggering £114 per person.  Normal price is £69.

At least Dick Turpin had the good grace to wear a mask

Doesn't this though just confirm the underlying problem - that of why the club in its present incarnation have failed miserably to develop enduring commercial sponsorship relationships within the local community??!!

Successful negotiation is about both parties achieving satisfaction. Rather than one feeling that they are the victims of Dick Turpin ?

I would completely agree with the general sentiment but maybe this is such a 'one off' game that we should give SC and his new commercial team a little bit of slack and treat this more a case of 'making hay while the sun shines'.  SC said this on Twitter yesterday - "Delighted to say that we have sold the match sponsorship for our Stevenage game - but we do have other opportunities - everything is very manic at the moment. Hospitality tickets are on sale at the club’s website, looks like they will all sell out.  #COYL" so it would appear there are enough people willing to pay that rate to vindicate SC's price hike.

Will they be having Prawn sandwich's?

Going back to the subject of STH being given priority.

Can someone explain what the logic is behind them being allowed up to 6? How often do the STH's take 5 people with them?

If they all take advantage of this it really would penalise other supporters, both regular and new, but especially those that pay on the day.

The online ticketing system is now open for those of you who have been to 4 home games this season - you can buy tickets online now for the stevenage game - if you are on less than 4 you will need to buy a ticket for Hemel or Kidderminster first and then log back in again

Got my ticket.
