Both far from fit is my understanding.  I don’t really don’t get what people expect from Gold.  He was released from Wrexham so deemed not at that level.  Today he got beat up a bit by top end League 2 central defenders.  Why is that a surprise ?
Your number 9 is expected to score you goals, Stevenage’s got two today. Against the quality today, Omotayo was going to have his work cut out. As fans, we need to get behind Omotayo, we are not totally reliant on him for goals, as our goal scorers are in double figures. Our aim for this season was always to get back into the National League. We are in a good position to do that, but we all need to back the team that Tommy puts out. Let’s do that next week against Hereford.

On watching the game on BBC I player as well as seeing it at the ground we were lucky not to concede a penalty, but on saying that we should have had two penalties and the person concerned who got pulled back and manhandled was our old friend gold Omotayo it is wise to remember Tommy make the choices and he knows best; the slow motion camera will tell you that the ref was wrong in not giving those penalties one to them and two to us this would have been a different game then; remember it was the Gold goal that got us this second-round game in front of millions worldwide; let hope some of the BBC money will go to Tommy

Because Gold is a footballer, he is not a rugby [player disguised as a footballer; so bear this in mind when people start to criticise him as proven last week everybody in a team can score goals as the opportunity arises asked the Hemel Hemstead goalkeeper; beside remember Gold played for Switzerland national side as a goalkeeper, not as a centre forward

Maybe not JH but he is the only in double figures and four ahead of his nearest rival

As a team, we have over 10 different (double figures) scores. While they continue to score, it’s not such a big deal if Omotayo doesn’t.

People starting off with their Gold agenda again.

It isn't an agenda - he's just so frustrating.

What wound me up today was the way he missed so many of his headers - not being beaten in a challenge, just mis-timing his jump and completely missing the header.
Also, the remark about him being "beaten up" by a couple of big defenders - Gold is a big lad himself, he should be bullying the opposition

Admittedly I too thought it was poor when he  completely mis timed the header. I can't believe he didn't get something on Barretts cross either. But Stevenage were undoubtedly a huge step up in quality to what he's been used to, they handled him well
They  marshalled him well

I’m presuming that the forwards who were on the bench as not fully fit, but I doubt it.  I think TW had one of his “safety first” selection days.  For whatever reason, the line-up looked unlikely to put Stevenage under any pressure and need to stay back to keep us out.  That meant they were going to have a lot more time up our end, with many opportunities to score.  We needed a quick forward near Gold, with Barrett part of the midfield.  All opinions, but the team sheet before the game did not pass the Dillification test.

Stevenage were a well organised side . Lynn did well to keep them to 0 0 at half time . Ponticelli was a big miss Gold is a good player at his level. The outstanding players for Lynn was Denton and Barrett who could both play at a higher level. The manager and Mr Cleeve have given us good memories and hopefully a promotion at end of season

We have done well in the league to cover Ponticelli's absence but yesterday was a step too , we really missed his pace up top.

As for Gold he really frustrates me by being so passive he plays a gentleman's game. When he was being held yesterday a swift movement of an elbow back into the midriff or step back on top of the foot behind would have been far more effective than appealing to the referee, and even if the ref' then awarded against would have sent out a message to the defender that he was not there to be bullied.

I don't agree with the criticism of Gold.
First half was very even, could have had a penalty when he seemed to be held in the box.
Pre match, and up until half time, I genuinely thought we might get a good result in the game.  Stevenage came out a different team second half, and blew us away in a few short minutes.
ANY team that happened to, heads would drop, and that was certainly the case with Lynn.  Gold was pretty isolated up front, and our passing game seemed to have gone out the window.  A poor second half all round, but I  blame Stevenage, for unsportingly killing off the game!
Still proud of the team, we're going pretty well this season, and hopefully back at it Saturday.
