Pitch covers
« on: December 08, 2022, 10:46:10 PM »
A friend of mine was walking past the ground earlier today and said to me how surprised he was that the covers were not on the pitch.

Cold weather and frost at the moment with colder weather forecast. If the game is called off due to the frost, and covers have not been used, the Club will only have itself to blame.

Having said that, I don't suppose it would do us a lot of damage long term as it would give the players currently out through injury more time to recover. That would save the expense of getting additional players in.

Or, maybe the cup money has been used to install underground heating.  :)

Listening to the Irish guy from Tommy’s backroom staff it did come across that Saturday’s game is already in doubt.  He sure didn’t seem that confident about Saturday being on

The cold weather  is going to  be around for a few more days.  If history is  anything  to go by the match will be  off.

Have to agree. Covers would give it a fighting chance. Without them, very doubtful.

The suggestion in the interview was an early call on the game would be made to stop BPA traveling

This Saturday.

I presume that it's pointless putting covers on an already frozen pitch. In fact if the weather gets a bit warmer, putting them on now could even stop the pitch from thawing out.  :dontknow:

Boston game is only one that's still on tonight. Apparently they invested in some top quality covers which now appears to be paying dividends.

They have 3g on the complex, but I think you'll find the pitch they play games on is grass.

Apart from Boston/Banbury, all other games in NLN are off, as are 8 out of 10 NL matches. BUSA covers doing good job!
