IF the games were to go ahead in this current weather climate I very much doubt there would be a sustainable crowd to cover the overheads of the stadium on the night. E.g. lighting/electric anyway🤔  And on the health / safety side it should be a no,no  for the fan anyway!! The only valid reason imo for covers are for rain/showers, then if that is successful, then the supporters are not put in any danger attending..

Sorry B&G

Like Gordon Chilvers I have been several times to see them and it is deffo 3G Sorry
Linnet i have not seen Boston since we thumped them at the old ground but have been along that road on matchday and the parking is carnage. Find a gap and dump your car is the norm.

And on that day we had Cully as Manager and Boston had Elliott.  Cully of course is now at Boston while Craig Elliott is the newly appointed Manager of Saturday’s visitors to The Walks, Buxton.

What goes around, comes around.

After Saturday it’s back to back games v IC and Boston.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Sorry Gordon but yes its exactly that
Hope to be going that way before the match to see if there is now a through road opposite the ground on those crossroads where you park (Wallace Way) to the Boston to Kirton Rd
Streetmap suggests there is and google maps certainly has it as being likely as there are covered traffic lights at the other end when I last looked
Will post if I find  the answer, as that would be an alternative to getting out onto the main A16

Just had a look at the online version which looks almost certain there is a through road now
So even if you park further down that road and you have a longer walk to the ground, you can come out the other way in the car afterwards which should ease congestion on the A16

B & G
More likely because its a 3G pitch

Culverhouse's Banbury post match interview mentions the game being played on grass.

Yes, but apparently they don’t play their league or cup games on it.

Your bid Linnet.  There is big clue in the photo where it cannot be the main pitch the 3G surface was going down.  Not many people would put the pitch down before the stadium is built

Because its not fully grass its a hybrid mix
Which is why there is no wear in the goalmouths and the ball doesn't react properly

A 3g pitch consists of synthetic turf, sand infill and rubber infill. No natural grass.

A hybrid is natural grass reinforced with synthetic materials. It's not 3g!

Also, going back to the original subject, a hybrid pitch would have still required protecting from the elements to make it playable during the recent spell of bad weather (ie pitch covers). You wouldn't be able to brush frost and snow from the surface as you could (to a degree) witha 3g pitch.

Its not grass either

It's mainly grass.

It's definitely not 3g as previously claimed.
