Lynn do the double over Boston
« on: January 01, 2023, 04:56:45 PM »
The Linnets take all 6 points from the holiday games, with a 2-1 in over Boston.

Att, 2123 (circa 400 from Boston).

Lynn move into 2nd place, with three games in hand over the teams occupying 1st, 3rd and 4th places.

Stephen Cleeve states that there is no CCTV that can be used to catch the people that smashed up the toilets. Fair enough. But there are CCTV cameras in place in the North Stand. The footage needs to be reviewed alongside the Police. Ban those that were fighting in the stand and on the pitch and press charges.
Also review how the stewards (I assume these are voluntary) and Phoenix Security operatives (I assume these are paid) responded.
The Phoenix chap stood still and just watching the fight, in front of us, when asked if he was going to do anything, replied “Why should I?” I understand that volunteer stewards should not be expected to intervene in a fight, but paid security, in my view should. The part of the ticket price that goes to them is to keep everyone safe, not to stand there and say “Why should I?”.
And where is the point in ejecting somebody from the ground and then letting them back in? Why drag the Boston lot out of the Lynn bit and then throw them straight back into the Boston end? Kick them out of the ground.
Might be time to replace the tatty bit of debris netting with something a little more robust as well. 😉

Very rarely any real trouble at the ground.
Can't really see what made them kick off today. We've had bigger crowds with no trouble whatsoever.
Baffling.

**** poor segregation, today was a situation that was going to happen sooner or later. Lessons need to be learnt and fast, especially if we were to gain promotion. Two sets of alcohol fuelled so called football fans giving abuse to each other, with a 15 metre gap separating them.
Seriously, why would the stewards want to intervene and to get punched and kicked. Unfortunately, the trouble is what will be remembered most from todays game. It was even brought up by the guy talking to TW in the post match interview.

The segregation and ‘netting’ must have all been signed off by the H&S guy at the Club??

Maybe if something more is needed the old FOTL pot of £5k could be used to put in something a little more substantial than the netting( if needed).

These fans with too much drink inside them, was this sold to them at the ground or did they turn up wasted and were then allowed admission ?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

WARNING.....sort out the away fans being allocated the main stand🤔
As a home supporter I don’t go along for the abuse and intimidation shown by the away section in my own stadium.....we got lucky in the national league with the Wrexham & Southend games which was on the verge of potential clashes...not just that but they use the tickets to then congregate at the bottom of the stand....IF I wanted to stand with the opposition I would buy a away ticket 😡

As a season ticket holder in Section B of the main stand I have to say we had no trouble with the Boston fans around Had a good conversation on and off all game
I don't want to be forced into giving up my seat there for only a few games of the season when the area would be populated by away fans
Had no trouble in the NL last saeason either. A little banter sometimes but no real aggro

It is probably fair to say, that away fans sitting are far less likely to be looking for trouble. The segregation where the fighting occurred needs to be greatly improved. The green netting could be replaced by something that doesn’t allow you past.

If they haven't yet found a use for the residual funds left after the demise of the fotls, this would make sense.

Also, aparently we no longer have any pitch covers  (  :dontknow: ).

Both of the above is needed and raising funds for the Club  is what fotls were formed for.

That's if there really  is 5k left, and its looking for a home. Not seen the Chairman comment recently on where the money is/went, whereas previously there were comments being made about it.

A sad but predictable reflection of society. Some will always chance their arm when they know that at worst, they will get a slap on the wrist. Effective deterrents?

A video has emerged on YouTube of most of the fighting.

https://youtu.be/kEcA_4wrOQ8

I watched it along with the CCTV video that shows the Boston lot jumping over the barrier into the KL section.
The YouTube video shows what I believe to be a King's Lynn hooligan fan on the edge of the pitch and jump over the barrier into the KL section and head for what I think is a Boston (fan??) and hit him in his head, with such force he fell over. He then walked further into the KL section.

He should also face a public order offence.

Furthermore why were no police inside the stadium during the match?
Is it because they have to be paid as soon as they set foot inside the stadium.

Why were King's Lynn fans allowed in the Away End Section B of the  Main Stand?

Duty of Care by Kings Lynn FC was non existent.

Re Lynn fans in Section B its because some of us have season tickets there
No trouble around me and Lynn fans sit further back with tickets purchased on the day
Had some great chat with Boston fans, one who even commented that this is "what is great about non-league, we can sit together and talk and enjoy the match
"It would be ridiculous to allow only away fans at all games in section B and make us move as mostly there are less than 50 away fans in that section
Its only a few big games in this league where that is not the case
I will not give up my long held seat there only to see most of the section almost empty at the majority of matches
It might have to be different in the NL if we get there and I am not holding my breath on the club approaching us about moving, given their usual lack of communication
