Money and Maintenance
« on: January 04, 2023, 08:51:12 AM »
There have been a few posts regarding money spent and were they value for money?  Some found their way into the posts talking about the NYD match with  Boston, but nobody has mentioned  the  new score board fitted in the corner were almost  anyone on that side can not see it, and if like me you sit in the stand a set of binoculars would be handy. Any idea of the cost?  Must be at least 10 grand.

The scoreboard was a complete waste of money. At least half the ground cannot even see it.

I think we've needed a scoreboard for many years, however, irrespective of it's quality or position, should there have been other improvements ahead of it? Probably. How much does the advertising pay for it? We don't know.

What would be interesting, is to see maybe, people's thoughts on their top 3 because we obviously cannot afford everything we would like.

A better viewing area for our disabled supporters. There used to be a raised platform level with the Hospital end 18 yard box a few years ago.

Feb that’s why it’s important to get a fully functional supporters Club set up to help raise funds for much needed facilities.

Where are we with this?   Maybe Malc could give us an update

In answer to Mallards Question I was hoping that someone would have come forward to call a meeting to form a new Surporters Club but alas there doesn’t seem to be any interest so I will put this forward is there any interest to form a new Surporters Club I do think a club like ours needs one

Not a particularly high priority but wasn't the PA system upgraded fairly recently? Although my eyesight is not great my hearing is fine - yet when sitting in the stand on Saturday.i thought the sound quality (rather than the volume) was at times indecipherable.

Malcolm.

Was there a residual amount of money left over when the fotl's folded, and if so, how much and where is it at present?

I believe it’s near £7000 and it’s still sits in the account in Barclays Bank and will until someone comes up with a worthwhile project to spend it on

Thanks Malcolm.

So just to get this correct. Its sitting in Barclays Bank in an account in the name of Fotls?

Now fotls is no more, who are the signatories on the account?

Malc that’s great but should really be put to some good use.   Would it help if a Poll was run in here to come up with some worthwhile projects for you to select from ?

That sounds like a good idea.

Any view of grounds on tv at our level or the next one up shows several areas we are woefully short of, although admittedly the 7K Fotl money should be put to something more accessible.  I just feel the flat area at the Hospital End between the end of the Main Stand and the corner flag is not befitting of our station.  There used to be a terrace there, and there should be again, including a disabled area?  Just a thought, but if we aspire to improvement…….
