TW has again shown. fear-facror in an away game against a lowly team.  This result is unfortunately in the series of games that include, Kettering, Farsley, and now Blyth.  All away games, and all with not enough forward-going players to keep the opponents on the back foot.  It is disappointing, because that’s 9 points that may have been squandered by an unnecessary safety-first line-up.  We are good enough to win these games, so shouldn’t try to do it with a selection that lacks the guile to do it, and by going into their half in numbers.

Dilly how do you make 2 defeats and a draw as equating to 9 lost points ?

Tommy basically went with what he had available.  Some may say that was down to him for not bringing short term replacement to beef up the squad.   Then again maybe he had his hands tied to a certain degree .  TW comes across as someone who would hope for the best but prepare for the worst with the likes of Hargreaves, Scott, Clunan and Gold all missing.

Jones I assume will be added to that list now, with suspension

Can you imagine any Manager not stregthening his squad if they had that option available to him?
On the other hand, if a Manager is given the money to add to the squad and didn't do so, I would expect any Chairman to ask why they hadn't.

Players, especially goal scoring forwards may be difficult to come by, but if the money on offer is right the task of finding one must become far easier.

Culverhouse pulled in a loan striker for Saturday.  Surprise surprise he notched as well. If he can attract a League Club Striker to a struggling Club like Boston then can see no reason why TOmmy shouldn’t be able to do the same.  Finances permitting

We don’t have a given right to beat a team just because they are at the  ottomans end of the table. Dilly, you make it sound so simple, just put out an attacking line up and we will win. We need to realise that we are not unbeatable, there are two teams both trying their best to win.
The previous two seasons weren’t the best to watch from a Lynn point of view, this season is so much better, but I don’t think we are the finished article by any means. If we don’t gain promotion, so what, it’s not tge be all and end all. If we do, then great, but we would need to strengthen.
Yes, Boston’s loanee Chadwick scored, a solo run and fantastic strike. Their defence wasn’t so good with their loanee keeper losing possession and gifting Gloucester’s first goal.
Going back to Dilly’s all out attack approach, I’ve said this before, our line up at Doncaster was set up defensively and we not only won, but dominated for large periods. I think yesterday, with so many regulars unavailable, the team almost picked itself. A point away yesterday really wasn’t so bad, other than Fylde, all our other rivals didn’t
win.

It's not a case of thinking we have a right to win every game. Obviously we won't do that.

If we go into games against the bottom clubs not thinking we can win, and win by a decent margin to help GD, then we may as well not bother.

Dillification does NOT advocate an philosophy of “all out attack”.  A selection that expects defenders or defensive midfielders to (largely) do the attacking is always unlikely to succeed in dominating the game, and indeed, scoring.  I appreciate we are depleted by injuries at the moment, but the Blyth commentator summed up the thought I had when I saw the team sheet.  Halfway through the game he said “KLT not showing much going forward, and not playing as well as we expected”.  We were “going forward” as effectively as Dillification expected, and forecast!  And I don’t think the Doncaster line-up was defensive.  See you next week!

Was talking to a friend at work today and he seems to think, we need to bring in a new forward. TW did say he was looking at bringing at least one new player in soon, but didn’t say what position it would be. Looking forward to Saturday and hopefully we can get a win against PS. Hope we do, because we have a couple of the top sides soon after, after which we will have a better idea of how we are looking.
