A47 said the covers are still there, so if the pitch isn't covered, the question could be why not?

If there are, indeed, covers then what the heck is the problem?!  Are we serious about progressing?  If they’re not used then a big disservice is being done to both the players and supporters.

I can see a big fixture pile up later in the season. It could cost us promotion.  I have tickets sitting at home for Buxton, Bradford  P A. , looks like I'll be adding Telford.

Given the current poor weather conditions, and travel distance for AFC Telford Utd , we have arranged to have a pitch inspection at 4pm on Friday 20 January.  We will publish the outcome of the inspection asap after it has taken place.

Such a shame that the covers purchased by the fans could not be stored where they could be of use time and time again.

We play better on better pitches.
Fixtures being put back will help not hinder in my opinion.

That begs the question as to how we were able to do this, presumably without the match ref seeing the pitch, and Brackley were not?

This is non-sensical. If we are genuinely serious about competing at this level (or above) then appropriate covers or whatever other system might be best-employed to deal with adverse weather must be a good business investment. Climate change is going to mean potentially colder winters but notwithstanding that the present conditions are not exceptional for this time of year. If previous covers have disappeared somehow or for some reason then we should now forget about those (regrettable as that may be) and focus on the future. There seems little point in going full-time on the field if we don’t mirror that investment off the field. I know it’s easy to be critical and I don’t want to simply sound off…. A positive, constructive and maybe innovative way forward has to be sorted, and sooner rather than later. Who knows, we could have further frozen pitches in the coming weeks and then have unprecedented fixture congestion?

In relation to ' Kenny R's ' post.

The club would have either called in Saturday's match official ( if available ) or an official of a specified level to carry out the inspection. As has been stated before a club has no power to postpone a game without either of the two officials previously stated present. Whoever has looked at it this afternoon has felt it's not fit to play on at present or would be  tomorrow hence the call this afternoon which prevents people setting out for the game.

With regards to last Tuesday evening I do not know the details. But you have to assume that when the inspection was carried out at lunchtime the official felt at that time the pitch was playable, be that the match official or another called in to have a look. That situation has obviously changed at 6 pm or whenever that evening.

The areas of the pitch most vulnerable to frost will continue to be covered overnight.

We will of course update if anything changes.

We will have our match preview and spectator guide out later.
