Mascot fees
« on: January 23, 2023, 11:01:50 AM »
Stumbled across the website today the cost of someone wanting their child to be a mascot..

£75!!!!

"This includes - Football Shirt

Ticket for child and a parent
Picture in the match day programme, you will receive a signed copy.
Reduced Tickets for family
Adults £15 Seated
Concession £14 Seated
Child £5 Seated"

This is madness!! Not wanting to start a debate here of what SC has and hasn't done for the club but this cost for a child to be mascot is ridiculous....

I think the cost of a shirt and admission for a child and an adult would be around £65.
Based on that,  it seems a reasonable price.

Although many would think that the child should be free anyway.

Do they get many takers? If there's always a paying mascot for every match, I would say the Club has probably got it correct. If not, it may need looking at again.   :dontknow:

Do they/should they, offer a package without having to buy a shirt?

As and example, Darlington's package:

Our great package includes:

Meet and greet by Darlington FC staff 90 minutes before the match
Meet the players before the game in the tunnel
A kick about on the pitch
A seat in the dugout before the match
Leading the players out before kick off
Photographs in the centre circle with both captains and the match officials
Two standing tickets in addition to the mascot ticket
A £25 voucher to be spent in Quaker Retail

Price £50 plus VAT

Not bad considering Mike Ashley was charging 550 quid to be a mascot at Newcastle

Some PL Clubs charge £700. Some others don't charge at all. Some that do charge distribute the income they received to community projects.
