do wonder if TW will ever change and play ponch and cosgrave up front from the start and give defenders something to think about , Barrett and Gold don’t have the pace and work rate  I feel to put other teams on the back foot from the start just think we’re huffing and puffing results and know we’re being found out and don’t have a plan B

I agree. We lack pace and potency up front in my opinion. Cosgrave with Ponticelli or Stephens in support would be my starting front two with Gold as a sub but as always, it is about opinions and the buck stops with Tommy.

:oldman" :farmer: I can’t disagree that Gold didn’t have much impression on the game, I also can’t disagree with the comments about our other strikers, we have 4 really good strikers for our level and at the start of the season Ponts, would have been 1st name on my team sheet, I do agree that we need to shake up the attack but it all boils down to Tommy’s decisions.  :farmer: :farmer:  :oldman"

It boils down having more attackers in midfield and attack than defenders on the team sheet.  And taking an attacker off & replacing him with another hardly increases the scoring potential.  Home or away, successful teams at any level attack with natural attackers, not with defensive players.  Our balance is always too safety first, especially against teams at the bottom end of the table.

:oldman" :farmer: In Stephens, Ponticelli and Cosgrave we have players who should and indeed could rip most defence’s apart in this league, but for some reason Tommy decides to bring this speed and agility on to the park in the latter stages of matches as opposed to starting with it. He makes the choices but I believe we should be using all of them wisely with Gold as your target man and 2 of the said 3 playing of his knock downs etc., attack is the best form of defence. :oldman" :farmer:

Gold is the Clubs leading goalscorer and you guys want him benched ?  The way you are talking anyone would think Tommy doesn’t know what he is doing.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Hi Mallard, see where you're coming from, however, is anyone right or wrong on this?

The game's a squad game these days. If we do our own homework, then surely there will be games when we use pace and games where need height and muscle to go with Gold's other qualities. If I'm honest, I feel we may have become a little easy to predict with our starting eleven, when the opposition are doing their homework. In my humble opinion, this is why we have come up against such well drilled opposition in recent games and struggled to overcome it.

You didn’t come on here and say that when our leading scorer was dropped v Darlington and Doncaster Bosto   to name a few , forums about people’s opinions and and like freelancer says we need to utilise others as lately we’re predicable .

Everyone seems to look at what he can’t do as opposed to what he can do plus brings to the team.
