Wing, with inflation still running at around 10% it sure will make things very difficult for many people.

700 fans for a team riding high in the League is a worry.  Imagine if Lynn were mid table.  What standard of Football would gates of 600-700 support.  We had that number for Step 5 when we reformed back 2009.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Hi mallard  IMO it doesn't  matter  where Lynn are in the league if people cant afford it they cant afford it - i certainley wont be putting myself in debt to watch Lynn
3 homes game's has taken a toll on me financially  and with another 3 home games on the cards  i expect a lot of fans will be a bit choosey which ones they watch.
Hopefully things will sort themselves in our country  otherwise we will all be in the cart.

It’s not just what is happening here.  What is happening in other Countries is impacting so much now.  Another 20% hike on energy to hit everyone soon.  Can only see gates falling.  Not maybe to the level you are suggesting Wing, but fall all the same.

This is where a realistic price for season tickets would have helped the club. Get as many supporters on season tickets at start of season.Give them a deal they couldn't  refuse.Gates then guaranteed.

Far, far too logical!

That is certainly one view GS, personally I would have gone the opposite route (and said so at the time) and not offered season tickets at all this season.  I understand that this would have reduced the amount of 'guaranteed' income the club would have received up front but I think that could have been offset by having a much more flexible approach to ticket pricing in what was always going to be a difficult financial climate this season.  There are ways of rewarding 'regulars' (book of 10 tickets, etc) and then when situations like this week (3 in 8 days) and same again in 28/2-7/3 the club could have run promotions that wouldn't have devalued the price of a season ticket.  As it is, the club went for the worst option - relatively small discount for those buying season tickets so, I imagine, a small take up but now not able to offer in-season discounts for fear of upsetting that group of the fanbase.

IMO, I don't think the Club would worry too much about that.   :dontknow:

This is where someone like Barrie Pierrepoint would have come into his own in getting deals out there to attract the fans in.

On the subject of BP is he all recovered now and will he be returning ?  I guess we still have no one handling the commercial side.

I don't think there are many season ticket holders to worry about.

But there are some and if the club offered a bundle price for when we had 3 games in 8 days they would be justified in feeling short changed given how little discount there was for purchasing a season ticket originally.

Pricing at Lynn is difficult as it is pretty obvious the gate receipts don't come anywhere near where they need to be to sustain a full-time squad when you include training facilities etc so it is basically a damage limitation exercise, SC said earlier in the year he had budgeted on crowds over 1200 and although some Saturdays are above that we do have a further 3 home Tuesday evenings when gates are traditionally lower, hopefully Fylde will prove attractive enough to mitigate that a little.

Average gate so far this season is 1107, which is 70 down on the average for the entire previous season.

A more flexible approach to future pricing surely makes a great deal of sense? With the cost of living seemingly only going to continue to increase, making football as affordable as possible is a must. Fixtures over a season never ever work out as originally planned due to weather intervention. Hence as now, a run of home or away games becomes almost inevitable and for more than a few, attending three games in a week is unaffordable..

Maybe at our level the season ticket concept is now outdated? I also wonder if our full time status at this level brings with it more positives than negatives?

Making sure we get as many games played on a Saturday, and not get them moved to a Tuesday unless absolutely necessary is so important.

This brings up the matter of pitch covers again. Has the Club invested in new ones yet?   :dontknow:
