Lynn can only manage a 1-1 draw at home to Buxton

Att:847

Fylde win 3-1 at home and regain top spot.

Were just not good enough. Fylde will win the league. Good news is were will be in the play-offs but will get knocked out.  We don't score enough and our defence is weak. Even with a miracle and we get through the play-offs, we would have to get better players to stay in that division.

Anton, You understandably sound very down at the moment. The league table disagrees with most of what you've said, and over a season the table doesn't usually lie.

What I would say, is I cannot understand what it will take for TW to start the game the way he starts the second half or shortly after. We seem determined to make things difficult for ourselves from the off, and invite other sides onto us. A number of times in last night's first half, I saw us work our way back from their half to our keeper.

Keep the faith, a way to go yet!

Yeah you're probably right. Should have waited to post the next day. At the the time I was so disappointed with the result. We really did need to win that game. Still in with a chance and hope Fylde drops points.  :scarf:

I for one understand your disappointment and frustration. Undoubtedly another missed opportunity but still much to play for.

Can understand disappointed in ‘only’ getting a point at home to Buxton, this especially after Saturday’s heroics at coming back from 3-1 to grab a point at the new League leaders.    Let’s also remember this is the Buxton team who beat us over at their place a few short weeks back.

Will still be a few twists and turns along the Road for both ourselves and Fylde.   It’s still a Marathon not a sprint ( well until the last couple of weeks).  Plenty of stuff for Tommy to get his teeth into going forward.   Let’s remember the last time we won this League we also suffered a massive dip in form but got ourselves over the line.

Couple of things off the field that are a little concerning the lack of commercial enterprise going on at the Club with SC tweeting for support from Match Days sponsors.  Almost sounding desperate and the Clubs latest set of accounts ( published yesterday).
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

What's concerning about the latest accounts then?

Well…we’ve been basically playing catch-up but we then keep falling back. There’s only so many times you can do that and I think we’ve had our chance and it’s now gone after last night. If Fylde win their game in hand we’re five points behind with not so many games left. Even if we were to beat them at home the situation is still out of our hands. I, too, now worry more about our home games. We have some tough away fixtures but seem to make something happen these days whereas at home we’re not putting goals in. Other teams around us keep dropping points which has helped…all except Fylde!  I think it’s the play-offs for sure now and we may well struggle there unless the injury situation improves. Blair did OK which is good but we miss Hargreaves and Scott. Saturday isn’t going to be easy and nor even Farsley Celtic. They lost last night but otherwise have been doing much better of late. It’s a tough League. Ironically, had we started poorly and now be where we are I’m sure everyone would be pleased. It was the good start which raised everyone’s hopes…perhaps unfairly after last season?

Let's hope Buxton can get a result v AFC Fylde next Tuesday, either a Win  or a Draw :salute:
