Fylde held 0-0 away at Blyth.

Big win in the context of the league table.
Really thought we'd come away with just a point again.

A vital three points but we made hard work of it. Recently at home we don't seem able to play even reasonably consistently over 90 minutes. I have absolutely no idea why but surely it calls into question the overall benefit, financial or otherwise, of being full time at this level??

Over the last few home games we have started slowly but then usually picked up in the second half. Today we started superbly, 2-0 to the good that might have been a couple more. Then it was oh so predictable that Scarborough would come out firing in the second half - which they did. We immediately switched from front foot aggressive to passive, handing them the initiative. They were a decent side but not overly so. Jekyll and Hyde - it really was a game of two halves!

I was surprised that Stephens was taken off as he was the only one of our forward players who consistently pressed their defence and attempted to run in behind - as both Cosgrave (who i would have started with) and Ponticelli did when they came on.

Anyway that's how i saw it but i readily concede that other opinions will differ....which is as it should be !!

Much better yesterday, played our best half of football since Stevenage, putting the complaints about the pitch into context - if you continually try to knock it long and it doesn't work you can't then try to use the pitch as an excuse.  Second half Scarborough pressed a lot more and we lost our composure but good to see us come back with the winner, still lots to work on but equally lots of positives to take out of the game, notably the performance of Hughes and in particular Stephens.

A great win in the end. If this pattern of results continues it looks like there will be a 'yoyo' of position between Fylde and Lynn at the top. Whoever losses out has to go through the playoffs with all the risks we know.  Perhaps more pronounced, but a similar situation in the National League between Wrexham and Notts County. Seems wrong to have only one guaranteed promotion when two sides are so closely matched.

Anyone know how many made the trip from Scarborough?

Decent 3 points gained to keep things very interesting at the top.  Squad also coming back to nearly full strength.   Lots of positives.

On to Tuesday with another 3 points up for grabs
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?
