Interesting,I do think we could advertise the club more ie signs on the main roundabouts coming into the town ,if you go to other clubs it’s team is not splattered around the town in the shops or pubs .even Norwich isn’t shouting about the club and their Hub shop is now closing .
Imo we’ve a good 800 /1000 hard core fans , but I just think missing fans aren’t knowledgeable about the standard we’re playing, you talk to a floating footy fan and say lynn v Chesterfield wouldn’t mean as much if it was v Ipswich ..us as non league fans are lynn fans so if you’ve grown up supporting league team I don’t think you can convert their preferences… to me we’ve got to get the younger generation in before they choose Man Utd or mobile phones and become bedroom supporters.
Entrance is what it is but I think in the ground is expensive food drink and club shop especially £17 for a scarf £7.50 for a badge .. get kids wearing the colours !!

Tweet from Stephen to explain admission costs.

Maths explanation for those needing to understand football finance.  Drop the admission price by £ 4 everyone will come theory.
Crowd last night 721 - £ 4 reduction club loses £ 2,884
At £ 13 each club needs to sell  222 tickets to generate same revenue
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I guess that’s based on everyone paying £17 an no VAT allowance on the loss figure.

Finances in general.

Don't pay out more than what you have come in, and find your correct level.

That's not lack of ambition, that's common sense.

Can't argue with the figures but it is the usual admission revenue obsession - a narrow view, with scant regard seemingly being paid to other sources of potential income and how best to exploit them?

3 games in 7 days.
As a concession, £45. 2 cups of tea at each game takes it up to £51. Same amount for regular supporters, but I  get the tea.👍
With high inflation, mortgage rates going up monthly, and fuel prices, there are a lot of people who HAVE to spend that money on bills. Also, Norfolk rates of pay are lower than most places in the country.
I missed last night's game, mainly due to the cold, it affects my old bones. With us having a lot of older fans,I'm pretty sure that puts a few others off too.
So for Tommy to be slagging off fans for not turning up doesn't sit well with me. He may speak his mind, but sometimes it's better not to. I would rather he question the price for youngsters admission. If it was free for them more people would go, and spend money in the ground.
No easy fix to get people to attend, but is slagging people off the way?

What surprised me is SC going over old ground of not enough bums on seats.  He has owned the Club now for what 6/7 years plus.  Yet he still comes out with the same old guff.  It is what it is. If he is worried about season on season having to put his hand in his pocket to prop it up then change the way the Club is run and cut his cloth according to the  income.  If not, it’s his Club, his shortfall to make good in terms of finances.

If someone hasn't got the ability to get revenue in other ways then trying to charge top dollar may be the only option available to them. When that doesn't work that must mean all areas have been explored. If the main money man can't or won't keep doing what he's done in the past then supporters can't be blamed if they think the writing is on the wall. In defence of Tommy he took the defeat on the chin and was prepared to take the blame.Others tend to think that its never their fault and look to blame others rather than look at their shortcoming. Some people are just not cut out for this footballing lark.

'Interesting' Tweet from SC, although I am not sure now is the time for this discussion:
"Match day pricing will increase next year substantially- it has to as the reduction has not worked - we will though look at rewarding fans that come every week with better value season tickets"

Which many believe are too expensive and not really value for money at the moment. Making them better value for money is needed anyway, regardless of all that's being put on social media at the moment.

If that’s the case then could be that Stephen has to dig even deeper into that pocket next season.

I agree Mallard. A price increase could knock gates further. If gates do drop again due to a rise in admission cost, what's the response going to be to that? Increase the admission price again?

750 on a pleasant Saturday afternoon? Quite possible, and where would the club be then?

Ever decreasing circles. A race to the bottom?  :dontknow:

Maybe SC is saying the admission will go up next season as he is expecting Step 1 Football.  Or is he talking about a substantial increase at Step 2 level for next season ?.

For balance we have to understand that players are suffering the same cost of living increases as the rest of us so they will be looking for more next season.  Maybe SC realised that the days of the £400 a week ex pro’s are a thing of the past.

Hopefully Stephen has  yet another Commercial Director lined up to come onboard in the summer.

I saw in a tweet from the Chairman that the idea of the open air concert, money spinners are likely on hold for this year.  Big surprise there.

Talking of attendances...
Fylde's average is lower than ours for this season.  Plenty of teams with higher attendances.
Answers on a postcard...
