In reality i think the fat lady sung a few games ago. Tonight was just confirmation. But at least now we can concentrate on securing second place.

Not going to happen. End of the line for us. The writing has been on the wall for weeks. We even picked the wrong starting side. :banghead;

No way back now for us. AFC Fylde will win the league easy now. To be honest I can't even see us winning the play off. Team selection has been a joke and it has shown. Least we did better than anyone thought at the beginning of the season. I'll be glad when the season is over. :banghead;

Anton, all is still to play for. No, we won’t win the league, we’ll very unlikely now, but we are very much in pole position for second place, which would potentially give us two home games. I think the pressure has now lifted a little, even had we won tonight, it was still Fylde’s to lose.
Not sure TW made the best decisions with subs tonight, but hindsight as they say. At the start of the season, we would have taken the play offs, we have got that and if we can get 2nd spot, then so much the better. We didn’t look like scoring in the second half, but let’s give credit to Fylde, they are a very good side and will be worthy champions, so congratulations to them on their win tonight.
I’m not going to criticise the team, I was at Doncaster and we outplayed them, so we are well capable. We all need to get behind team, secure 2nd spot and relive the scenes at Warrington, it’s all still very much game on.

Disappointing from Lynn.  3 top performers for us Jones (A), Crowther and Clunan.  3 who
were poor Jones ( J), Widdrington and Barrett.  The amazing thing is two of that 3 played the full 90 minutes.

Thought Stephen Cleeve looked a beaten man in the Directors box by the end of the game.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

You're unhappy because we've done better than you thought we would?
Typical of some Lynn fans...
As for line up and subs,our squad is limited and hasn't been helped by injuries and suspensions. Who knows the reason for the selection, maybe players are not at 100%.

Apparently there was some sort of disagreement between the Manager and some supporters at the end of tonight's game.   :dontknow:

Hopefully Tommy showed the same  anger toward the players who let him down tonight.  Like his boy for one.  How poor has he got to be before he gets hooked ? I lost count of the number of times he gave the ball away tonight.  His distribution was unbelievable

There was Clunan working his buns off while Widdering continually gave the thing away.  I guess Tommy watched a different game, seemingly he wears rose tinted specs

Some people need to be able to accept defeat sometimes. Yes, it was disappointing to lose tonight and yes, some players weren’t at their best. This game has gone and as much as you want to analyse it, it really doesn’t matter. Next up is Hereford and that’s where the focus should now be. SC knew that the title has now gone, of course he maybe looked dejected. Our aim at the start of the season was to win promotion, not necessarily win the league.

Glass half full attitude? The play-offs are more exciting than straight promotion. Two extra games to look forward to.

To be honest, Jones (J) has been gash (he was a good one!!) most of the games he’s played for us so far and Widdrington is very much in the same boat (certainly since he came back from his injury last year) but we all know that he will be given far more chances than any other player!!
As for the argument between TW and some fans this evening, I think it may well have been related to this aforementioned player and certain comments about performances!

Maybe after his performance tonight he was on some kind of charm offensive.

I hear Tommy Widderington  was telling fans last night they were not wanted back at The Walks after some were questioning his tactics, after the game.    Has SC now given the hired help the authority to ban fans ?

Thought SC was desperate to get more people into the ground, not less.   Hopefully the Chairman will make a statement today to clarify the situation and advice whether it’s part of Widderington’s remit to determine who is permitted to attend games.

It was not just about last night. I haven't seen any away games but at home over recent matches, often the result has flattered us in my opinion....In simple terms we haven't played consistently well for a while. Injuries to key players have been a critical factor in that but i also think certain of the recent signings have not been of the required standard.
