Rod, 100% with you.  Hargreaves and Scott have been massive losses for us but like you I feel the recruitment has been poor.  The lad Jones  on the left side last night looked a good yard short and as a wing back was very limited in his attempts to get forward and looked like he was towing a cart at times.

I can’t help but compare this team with the one we had under Culverhouse  the last time we were at this level.   What would the likes of Jarv, Hendo, Carey, Barrows, Richards, Gash and Marriott have given us.  A lot more passion that’s for sure.

We pulled in around 4,000 for a top of the table clash v York in that season.  Tommy and his full time squad couldn’t even muster half that.  Facts don’t lie.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Think York brought in excess of 1000 supporters not 24 you have to compare like for like. Don't think recruitmet has been poor ists trying to replace the injured players has been poor however do think goalkeeper last night was good.

I think also that Denton is hugely missed. One of our more consistent and forward looking players.

Spot on York did bring a 1,000 but there is still the little matter of a 1200 differential between the two top of the table clashes.    I still stand by that imho the quality of the Football was far more enjoyable to watch under Culverhouse than it is under Widderington.  You may well disagree.

Last night Fylde closed our back line down to stop us playing out so we were left with the option of the keeper knocking long balls up to Gold, who won his fair share but then we are looking at playing off 2nd ball scraps.

Recruitment wise, pre-season was ok but the like you I think the players brought in since have been somewhat substandard and not anywhere near the quality of the ones we have lost.

Here we go again.Lynn fans at their best.!Tommy should not have responded as he did but he's manned up and made his apology. He has to be better than the rest of us but how many can honestly say they would not have reacted as he did?The Club has to take some responsibility for this as no real action has been taken against individuals in the past so they think they can get away with it.Well they're right, they can! We've still got people attending matches than have let off fire works, given racial abuse, invaded the pitch, horrific on line abuse towards a player and his wife, abuse of stewards etc.Not banned so the club doesn't miss out on a single £19!Very short minded as this behavior keeps people away. We've just had academy day hoping to turn the kids into long term fans. What parent is going to want to take their kid to the walks when all this is going on? Tommy's manned up,the Chairman now needs to stand up!You know who's responsible for all this as its always the same group. There's been lots of noise but no action.Cut them out now and support your employee's and the majority of supporters who are ****ed off with this never ending saga.Be first to strike as I have heard that there's about 30 supporters threatening to boycott future games.
Good!My Saturdays will be much more enjoyable without them.

All that was said to Tommy was a criticism of his tactics recently and his subs. Nothing "vitriolic" as he described it. Tommy can't take all the praise when things are going well and go out drinking with some of them and then spit his dummy out when things aren't going well.

Well Wisher..... of course he can!! If Cleeve has given him license to do whatever he wishes, including telling fans that they are not welcome at the Club then there is no real recourse to complain or rather no one to complain too.

Tommy fronts up to the media and they seem to buy into all contradictory comments. It’s about time SC pulled him and asked the question ‘what am I getting for my money?’

Like others, no shame in losing both last night and, in all likelihood, the title to Fylde who looked better both individually and collectively than us.  Maybe would have been a different proposition had they caught us in our purple patch when we blew Darlington away but those sorts of performances seem a long way away from what we have seen of late at the Walks.  As much as I can understand some being frustrated we are still in the box seat for 2nd place and home fixture(s) in the playoffs, we just need to find some form between now and then.  The questions around the mid-season recruitment would seem valid but I guess we don't know what TW has to work with, maybe that could be linked to the management team commenting more on crowd numbers of late, but personally I would like to see more effort made to shore up the left hand side if it doesn't look like Scott will be available for the bulk of the run in.

Mall, I would question your rose tinted view of IC's NLN winning side - the York fixture was a Saturday which added to both home and away supporters attending, likewise whilst there were undoubtably players from that side who would get in the current lineup, it's fair to say that we are a lot, lot more solid at the back than that side so swings and roundabouts really.

As for the crowd issues, I saw lots on social media in the build up about creating a 'toxic' / 'hostile' atmosphere which I think can sometimes prove counterproductive

Absolutely spot on mallard .. people moaned at cullys play and no plan B but imo TW is in the same category now if we hadn’t had such a good start our true positioning at the way we’re playing is a mid table side ,TW is no tactical genius like IC and neither is his recruitment…. How many of this side can play National league if we was to go up ? 4/5 I’d say

Tony, the season under IC we averaged 1400 per home game.  I maintain the brand of football was far more enjoyable than we are seeing under TW.  This season we are averaging around 1100.  That’s circa a 25% decrease.  That’s without factoring the 500 (?) freebies there last Saturday.

I agree the likes of Crowther and Coulson are far more solid than what we had with the likes of Smith and McAuley.  Right back is still the same with Arron Jones.  Also Scott is a better option than Fox was on the left.  Not sure the same could be said about Jake Jones.

Won't argue about the enjoyment of watching IC's side but not sure that is the biggest factor in the drop in attendances, with IC we were a team on the up having just been promoted with lots of positivity around that, this season comes on the back of two very poor seasons in the NL where we were second best in the majority of games added to COVID breaking the habit for a number of fans and now the cost of living crisis hitting at a time when the value of a ticket was already a huge talking point.

Weird thing is that Jake Jones has come from an EFL club but you would be hard pressed to find anyone other than his family who would pick him ahead of either Scott or Fox

There was more to it than that and its been going on for a long while and nothings ever gets done about it.This is a non league club in the heart of the community not Liverpool or Millwall.Small bunch ruining it for others.I think the majority of supporters would like to see something done about it and get it sorted once and for all.

Not sure we're any different to any other club when it comes to bad language in the crowd and every club has its section that's slightly more passionate about it than others. It's funny because I occassionally chat to players gone by who have played for and against Lynn and one of things they always say about Lynn is the reception that refs and opposition players got at The Walks and that's what made it sometimes an intimidating place to visit. So I don't understand your comment about how we're a non-league club and not like Liverpool and Millwall. I would argue that it doesn't matter what club you go to, whether it be Liverpool, Portsmouth, Solihull or Wisbech, you're going to come across bad language and if you don't want to hear bad language I suggest you either move away from it or find something else. I of course accept, before you ask, that there is a fine line between bad language and outright discrimination which I know the club has been reported for on one occassion this season I do believe. I do not condone discrimination of any kind and if I, personally, hear anything that constitutes as discrimination I would not hesitate to report it (and have reported it in the past some years ago).

It's been play offs for a while and last night should confirm it. Crucial thing now, can 2nd place be secured so home advantage, and probably just as important, can momentum be gathered heading into them.

Of the current sides in play offs, 4 home wins and 1 defeat. So home advantage is big.

Agree with TonyM, we are second and in the box seat to hopefully have two home play games. Should we win promotion via the play offs then great, however we would need to improve the overall quality of the team, not going to mention names, but some are not up to National League standard. But, we can cross that bridge if we get there.
Last night, Fylde were better than us, we just need to accept that and move on. The title may have slipped away, but certainly not promotion.

Joey, with regard to attracting decent numbers in terms of Sponsorship I think there are far bigger issues for potential sponsors to put money into the Club than what you are suggesting.

However the work that Jodie is putting in on the Community project cannot be ruined by the few fans who go to the games with a different agenda.  To stay either like it or jump it is a real head in the sand attitude from Well.  I wonder if he feels the same about other far more reaching issues out there.

For balance though you can’t have a player ( Manager’s son) throwing out the kind of insults he was last night either.
