Away to Darlington - Coach ?
« on: March 29, 2023, 08:41:23 PM »

Does any one know if the club are going to put on a coach for the final away game v Darlington ? there was a suggestion made by the manager away few weeks back in on of his interviews/ramblings.  Im sure it would get takers as it will be crucial if we are secure top position or second place.

After getting 6 points over the Easter weekend and going top maybe the club will jump at the chance and organise a coach for the last away match at Darlington. Or am I being too hopeful?

The question was asked of SC. He said it would be too expensive at about £40 a head.

That sounds cheaper than driving 360 mile round trip from Lynn

More pricy than I expected. Guessing £25 to £30 a head since it would be Grays of Ely being used. Longer day out than FA cup match at Doncaster which I went to on the coach.

Perhaps if they used a more local company the price would be far more reasonable. But then over the years previous KLFCs often owed the local coach companies money before going out of business.
I know when i organised Supporters Club coaches before the dreaded loss of the club, that i had to hand over the money before the coaches left the Walks car park!

Shame we have no supporters club that could organise and subsidise things like this for members?
Perhaps a lunatic was simply a minority of one.

Alun Armstrong is on a real poor run.  Seemed to coincide with him agreeing a new two year.

Tonight v Curzon Ashton could be interesting.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I think if we win at Darlington, we will take the title the following week. Would expect Fylde to beat Leamington. Fylde’s midweek game at Curzon is where I’m hoping they will drop points, going for a draw. So if that all pans out, Fylde and us are level on points, but we have the much better goal difference. So a home win on the last day of the season against Curzon would do it.
Winning at Darlington would really put the pressure on Fylde. Didn’t think we would be contemplating winning the title a few weeks ago, but it’s a real possibility now.

2-0 home defeat last night.  I wonder if Armstrong will still the Manager come Saturday ?   Comes across as a really nice guy but seems like the fans want him gone.

Perhaps they'll tap up Tommy "Allardyce" Widdrington before Saturday....... but only if the price is right

Darlington are still in with a shout of the playoffs, so Saturday will be a tough game, they all are in this league.
For those of us going Saturday, if travelling by car it's get there early as the carpark fills up, turnstiles open 1.30pm.
