Tin hat time.   Should SC give the job to Hughes for next season or look for a more seasoned campaigner to take it on ?

Mark has done a decent job but today in the biggest game of the season he has well and truly had his pants pulled down.
Mark Hughes comes across as a nice guy but nice guys win sod all.

C’mon let’s have your thoughts.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I think we may see some important announcements coming in the couple of weeks.   Interesting times ahead.

Such as?   :dontknow:

What a disappointment but perhaps not completely surprising and a much needed reality check? In fact Fylde indirectly may well have done us a favour, in that if we had won the league that may have resulted in us thinking we are better than we are?

Sometimes it is the way you lose rather than just the losing and for me, today brutally exposed certain frailties that have been evident in a number of matches in the latter part of the season, when we have managed to overcome them in the majority of games - to the credit of the squad and the management.

Today though our limitations were brutally exposed by an excellent team who had obviously done their homework. They cut through our central midfield almost at will and exposed our lack of pace at the back.

Kidderminster were sharper had intensity and forward runners with and off the ball, so the player in possession always had good options: we did not do any of this with the exception of Stephens and I felt we were hanging on almost from the outset. In fact if it had not been for the excellent Dixon-Hodge the defeat could have been much heavier.

Tommy Hughes has done an excellent job so far but is also going through a steep management learning curve and maybe today he was too kind to what has become his preferred starting eleven: in that even accepting their recent lack of game time it was obvious that we needed to change something sooner rather than later, yet he only brought Hargreaves and Denton on when the game, effectively was lost. With Scott not even on the bench i assume he is still not fully fit???

One thing i also continue to question is the value of being full time at this level. Speaking with a Kiddy supporter on the way out he said they are part time - surely not on the evidence of today???

Maybe full time is a proposition that enables you to attract promising talent who may develop a sell on value but it is also attractive to those that just want to remain 'full time' but who have been less than successful elsewhere?

Mr Cleeve has some imminent and big decisions to make!

For me let’s start a fresh , tbh MH has done a good job but TW got us 90% there , could MH attract the players ?  , does he have a different style of more attractive play again i feel we play a lot of hoof ball which didn’t work today as gold was awol ( look how quick kiddy was in attacking )  I’m with a more seasoned manager with the contacts , but suppose a lot of that will be down to full or part time also let’s be honest we’re going to need 6/7 or more players after a clear our or selling and is MH up to that .

It's a funny old game.
I was looking forward to Kings Lynn v Chester next weekend.
Brackley did well to win there and certainly ripped up the form book when you look at their recent results at the end of the season!
Anyway , to next season. Local games with Boston to look forward to and hopefully the football won't be too expensive to watch.

SC already said an increase …this is a big decision that has to be right as a slow start will affects ATT  some big decisions to be made to take us forward again ..
Chester , Scunthorpe, south shield , not going to be easy !

Sadly, as I said during the week, no surprise at todays result. History suggested it and unfortunately history was correct with both 2nd and 3rd placed teams in the league losing out to teams who just scraped into the play offs!!,
Can’t complain though about the best team ON THE DAY not winning because Lynn were dire and Kiddy deserved the win today.

Cant say I'm surprised. They played like a proper full time team.....We most certainly didn't.

Think Stephen Cleeve has some big decisions to make on where he takes the Club next.   He has on numerous occasions this season told anyone willing to listen that sums are not adding up.  This despite a season Cup run and a play off game with 3,000 in to finish up with.

The season has seen commercial Directors/Managers come and go without any seeming marked improvement.  How many times has SC had to ask for a match sponsor on Twitter, just a few days before a game ?

Also we have heard noises about a new ‘investor’ being touted as needed.  Still Stephen is sailing alone ship.  Some could be forgiven for thinking that anything SC says should be taken with a prince of salt.   How much compo Will the Club be getting for TW walking?  All gone very quiet on that one despite all the column inches it was given by a certain journo.

So full time this season with overnight stops and excellent facilities at Ely as seen us come up a little short.  Is it an accident that last time we gained promotion it was as a part time club.   Or was that down to the personnel ?

Over to Stephen on where we takes the Club from here.   Admission going up should make for a very interesting attendance on a wet Tuesday night at home to Alfreton

If he is seriously considering increasing admission prices, he is completely and utterly out of touch with reality.

Heacham are attracting ever more supporters and this is not driven just by their on field success but because they offer value for money and are also viewed as a genuine community club who treat those coming through the gate as supporters rather than customers. An attractive proposition for potential sponsors.

It might be suggested that Heacham have reached their Holy Grail.  Thurlow Nunn Prem ( Step 5) is where teams who want to be successful at that level have to start finding a decent bit of wonga to attract players to the Club.

Will be interesting to see how Heacham cope with a year of stalemate after 8 fantastically successful years.  Plus Will their better players want to test themselves at a higher going forward than perhaps Heacham can offer.

Perhaps Gordon will offer some insight in where the Clyb seems themselves going from here ?

To watch lynn week in /out obviously must be a passionate lynn fan but where will the extra 1000 today be come august?? Many of those today here for the big occasion come their next match like people mention could be at Heacham , Dowham who got promoted as well , Wisbech , fakenham.. etc because some people just like football and have no alliance to any side just a fact that football is only football whatever the level and to take in the factor alot cheaper to if it’s just a Saturday afternoon thing  . Is worrying how much it’ll go up .. I for one would think twice at £19/20 to stand
