Sadly this is what can happen when you have a side that’s full of good quality players and you don’t get your promotion and you can’t compete financially with bigger fish. Just got to get the commercial and supporters side sorted in order to be able to compete on more level terms, with the bigger sides in NLN and the NL.

Sad to see go of course.  Been a great servant and wish him well.  Last season was probably his best at the Club.

Interesting he is going full time next season.  So does that mean he was hybrid last season ?  As I thought we were a full time Club
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

It depends of what your interpretation of "full time" is.

Rumour was that he very nearly joined Sports at the start of last season, and it took serious :countingmoney: to keep him here. I would guess he's been on Jimmy's radar for a while, so no real surprise with this one.

Would have thought Scunthorpe might be a model to try to follow, given they are so much bigger than Lynn. Sure they have past EFL history, but it’s not that big a town and it’s not located that favourably…..certain similarities there…..so where do they generate their bucks from….(apart from their 3k attendances).

Attendance of 3k would be enough to compete. I think the Chairman would be content with that.

Huge, huge blow to the club, comfortably our most valuable and consistent player over the last three seasons.  Wish him all the best, maybe his work situation has changed and he thinks Scunthorpe gives a better chance of getting back to NL football, always think it is better to try for something than not and then regret it later, he isn't getting any younger and can always go back to accountancy when he hangs up his boots.

Two big holes already for MH to fill but today should be about appreciating what MC did for the club rather than worrying about next season, plenty of time for that I am sure

Yes but as we both know that won’t happen anytime soon…..so where do they get the rest of their dosh from

So Denton last week, Clunan this week.  I wonder who Jimmy will be snaffling away next week ?

With Clunan  living in Lynn will he be travelling up to Scunny on a daily basis, or stopping over in digs ?  Whichever way a hellva a commitment with a new baby on the way
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I'm not sure how how it will afford him more time with his family if as the article says he'll still be living in Lynn.  AA auto route is showing 96.3 miles from Lynn to SUFC's ground taking 2hrs 9 minutes on a good day. Perhaps Scunthorpe don't want their players in that much for training?

Maybe there is someone else who will be travelling the same way that he can share the driving with (?)
