I’m not buying the blame is all at the doors of Culverhouse and Simpson .   

It’s Cleeve’s  Club the two mentioned were just paid employees.  As proven by SC saying he had a meet with Clunan at his house, this tells who does the negotiating and handing out of contracts.  When you run the Club as a sole owner there is nowhere to shift blame.

How many players has SC brought to the Club with his eye for talent ?  A good few is my understanding.

Sorry SC but this massive cock up ultimately has to sit firmly at your door.

Mallard, it is difficult to find a flaw in your argument. Joe scored goals at every level including more than a few at Wroxham. It was fairly obvious that he was worthy of a a run of games in Lynn colours? Or am i missing something?

Anyway, water under the bridge now but a not unsurprising.fiasco?

As you say, what a story. Although Wrexham have the Hollywood connection, Luton''s phoenix like rise shows just what can be achieved. They are truly now living the dream!

Also, just think what might have been at Wrexham?!

Whatever the story behind the scenes Joe was sold for a fee, acceptable to both parties, no one couldve predicted this fairy tale rise . Had he seen out that last season with us he would've never been around now . As proven he's far to good for Kings Lynn or any non league set up. Good luck to the lad , someone young , keen ,committed and has grasped his opportunity so unusual nowadays as the majority his age want everything handed to them on a plate!

Reading SC’s Twitter he certainly is saying he predicted it.  It was other employees who didn’t.

Seems Posh are happy as there was a clause in Taylor’s sale to Luton if they reached the Premiership.   That Bazza Fry, no flies on him.

For me there are two different issues. Maximisation of the financial potential would not appear to have been anyway near realised? However and perhaps this is a generational thing, watching 'local boys' develop through and play for their home town club, always brought with it an added value for me. I was spoilt in that respect enjoying watching amongst others: the Defty brothers, Mick Rains, Simon Bush, David Clarke..... They all had an obvious connection with the club and the local community. So yes, of course Joe was destined for higher things but why did Wroxham supporters have the benefit of watching his development when we Lynn supporters did not? Two massive missed opportunities in my opiniom.

A chronic inability to organise a party in a brewery springs immediately to mind!!!

Hopefully a lesson learnt by the Chairman.   Keep a closer eye on things going forward.   That Taylor money would have given Hughes a decent budget for next season.

Shame that what started out as such a positive thread  doesn’t end that way and descends into finger pointing and apportioning blame.


Changes are required in the club’s outlook and way of going about things………and IMO changes required in the approach of some fans too ,in order  for the club to move forwards and be successful. Being constantly tapped into a negative vibe isn’t useful or healthy….what’s gone is gone……..


Should be an interesting fortnight coming up. Most teams resume training early July and some players/managers usually take their holidays just before that, so lots to be resolved over the next 14 days or so. Let’s hope for some positive outcomes.
