Boost the budget
« on: June 06, 2023, 05:29:09 PM »
Creating a separate thread rather than this getting lost in the season ticket debate.

Details of the scheme here https://www.kltown.co.uk/boostthebudget/

For those that don't want to open the link, basically there are levels of monthly contribution that get you into a draw - £5 draw for a signed ball or mascot package or hospitality for two - £10+ and the prizes are visit to morning training (can take part if you want), travel with team & go to boardroom, chairman for a (home) game, face on programme, go on a scouting mission plus other 'benefits' depending on level of monthly contribution.  On the face of it seems a good idea, we are not a fan owned club like Darlington or Chester so there will always be a degree of scepticism but this scheme does have some 'money cannot buy prizes' that might appeal to some and are relatively cost free to the club.  Hopefully there are some that will look at what they are saving on a season ticket and will consider putting some of it back into the club

At least it’s something different and on surface looks to be giving something back and not a straight forward begging bowl effort.

Let’s hope the Club can come out with more forward thinking ideas to fund raise.

Joey, whilst I agree with you to an extent, many of those 'same people' will potentially be paying less next season so asking those that can, to put some of that back into the club doesn't seem that unreasonable on the face of it.  As for new fans, you will always have a tension between current 'loyal' fans who would like that loyalty rewarded (see multiple years of posts about how season tickets should be lower) against making pricing attractive to get more casual fans to come or come more often and basically SC is damned no matter what he does

I am sure that more could be done on the commercial side but again West Norfolk isn't blessed with 100s of companies looking for opportunities to throw money away so the offering has to either appeal to fans with businesses (I would suggest the bulk of our current commercial income) or makes business sense in terms of getting a decent return in sponsorship / advertising (pretty hard sell for most businesses on our gates)

Ultimately fans need to understand that the top of NLN is not Lynn's 'natural' position and has only really been achieved by financial doping by SC combined with IC's team playing out of their skin (and COVID intervening) / TW's team remaining full-time in a predominately part-time league.

I wouldn't worry about the fans understanding that. I'm sure the vast majority already do.

I think there's someone else that  needs to understand it. Maybe he now does, which is why he's kept the commercial activity at similar levels to when he first appeared.

What is good to hear though are the plans (let's hope its not just talk and it actually does happen) for  the Stadium to hold Boxing events, open air cinema, and major music events.

I don't think he should be too concerned  about the capacity at the Walks only being  14,000. When you consider that the likes of of Simply Red and Brian Adams attracted circa 8,000 at Blickling, the Walks capacity seems more than adequate.

Good that the Chairman seems to be coming out with these fund raising schemes.  Proof in the pudding and all that.

No point worrying about numbers if he’s thinking along the lines of Fake That or Ron Jovi.

Is SC now running the commercial side or can be expect news on someone else coming in to take us to the next level ?

The prizes look very good. Maybe it's not so expensive, but it improves fan loyalty, doesn't it? I'd like a prize like that.

Quando il club coinvolge nuove persone, sembra che molto spesso otteniamo anche nuovi membri sul forum che predicano la buona parola. Sembra che questa volta conoscano il potere della VPN. Anche se forse ci hanno riposto un po' troppa fiducia! :)

Why not? When bored, it's fun to chat on the forum. That's what forums are for, isn't it?
