We also have the lad from Wimbledon who looks likely to fill a gap he will be a handful also they have said we are looking for two more one a striker and a midfielder. As for the lad from Heasham he had his chance to shine and at times he looked a little lost I personally would have given him more time but when you are given a chance you have got to grap with  both hands but alas he failed to impress the Gaffer

...Attack still looks thin on the ground to me. For me Ponticelli and Stephens have a lot to prove in terms of regularly hitting the back of the net. I would give them 5 more games………if they don’t come up with the goods…then we have the youngsters recently signed up who must be given a go surely. We need someone who scores regularly……tap ins, pens, nothing spectacular, just regular goals. I am concerned we have forwards who can’t score from a one on one or a gilt edge chance, but occasionally score with a spectacular effort…….that won’t win games on a regular basis. Really hope the experienced front two prove me wrong.

For me Stephens was the most 'natural' goalscorer in the squad last season, the only real question I have is whether he can stay fit this year as he did come off in a number of games last year with 'niggles'.  Ponticelli was outstanding at the start of last season, probably never going to be prolific but created loads of chances for others before getting injured but wasn't really the same when he came back and we were playing a slightly different style then too.  Ultimately it will come down to how MH sets us up and that still seems to be unclear, hopefully he knows and we have to trust that will come off, without having seen anything in pre-season I am as worried about pace at the back and having enough 'nouse' in midfield as much as where the goals will come from.

Interesting how we see things differently Tony. The centre backs are the same as last year and personally I don’t think we will miss Clunan this year. I can’t remember how many Stephens and Ponticelli scored in the league last year between them,  but I would guess no more than a dozen. I am hoping that Hughes will play the two of them upfront on their own for the first few games with both in a more out and out attacking role…..then we will see…………I am hoping we will be a lot less pretty, but far more effective in front of goal this term……the conversion of good chances into goals needs to improve if we are to have a good season I feel.

Is that relevant though……good performance v Lincoln……..little else of NLN standard as opposition in the following games.

Here’s the answer:

https://www.lynnnews.co.uk/sport/young-striker-back-with-heacham-after-linnets-trial-9323810/

What I don't understand is, if he's good enough to be watched by a League Club, and Lynn thinks he needs minutes on the pitch to improve, why didn't we sign him, get him on contract and then get him out on loan? It's been done on numerous occasions before.

A young player, improving  all the time, wants to prove himself, local lad creating local interest, can be called back from loan if required, another club contributing to his wages, potential of a big fee if he movers into league football.

Well, if we miss out on this one as we did with Taylor, Culverhouse can't be blamed this time!

Something doesn't sound quite right here.
Culverhouse can't be blamed this time! LOL! I would love to hear Culverhouses answer to the Taylor saga.
Can't wait till 7-45PM tomorrow night when a bumper crowd at Heacham V Fakenham hopefully will see more of Fletcher in one game than Lynn saw in 3 weeks.
