Just watched the Corby highlights, and am giving it the benefit of the doubt! I appreciate ours was a scratch selection, but have to say Corby had the better players. But the good news, actually great, imho…. The “Protect the Game” initiative. I never thought the football community, in its entirety, would ever allow their “loyalty” to be challenged by such reality as this excellent and long overdue exercise. These days even a disputed throw-in can induce manic anger amongst players, coaches, and spectators. On the field, lovers of the game are sick of hearing so-called experts and pundits talk about “good fouls” and “good at committing little fouls all over the pitch to break the opponents’ play up. I hope this takes off in a big way to improve the spectacle of “the beautiful game”.
