Main Stand.
« on: August 06, 2023, 09:23:50 AM »
Oh dear, what a disgrace some of the main stand is.  Bird mess everywhere, except  the  directors  box and cob webs on seats . Not going  anymore until I hear its had a clean  if it was cheap  then perhaps I would  say OK. But it's expensive.

Would be the Stadium Managers responsibility or is part of the H&S remit. Maybe SC should be having a word with one or both of these people.  Ultimately the owner can’t be expected to do everything.  Where is band of volunteers when they needed ?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

It is no good coming on here complaining about bird po in the main stand I
suggest you contact Mr cleave and get some netting put up. I know
the volunteers have tried to do something but it is like pushing against
the tide from what I understand. Failing that I suggest you see if can get
it cleared .

Well said A47. It would seem that ja few loyal volunteers are going above and beyond but as you say, they are swimming against the tide!

I can remember many years ago somebody spending time shooting them which caused an uproar when it became general knowledge. It was a waste of time anyway as the little burgers came back.
Actually, on reflexion, that could be an addition to the choice of food at the ground.....they used to be bred for food. ( Waits for howls of outrage!)

So it’s acceptable for the Directors box to be cleaned but not anywhere else in the stand ?  I guess bird shat would put those in with Chairman off their half-time prawn sarnie.

If the Directors box can be cleaned then so can the rest of the stand.  How about The business Mr Cleeve has an interest in ... No Germs No Smells, great sponsorship opportunity?

No complaints about the team or manager {yet!} so lets find something else to moan about and attack the chairman and volunteers. Always someone wanting to stir the sh*t this time its pigeons!

If it’s representing a significant health hazard, then I would have thought that as the ground is leased from the Council, it would be The Council’s responsibility to obtain the necessary license to regularly cull the pigeons. As I understand it ,pigeons are protected under a Wild Birds Act or something similar, but a license can be granted in the case of significant health concerns, so maybe SC should be going to the Council (?)

Astonishing that some don't see a problem with bird excrement in the stand. Fans are actually paying to sit there after all. Pearly Spencer is quite correct in what he is saying.

That would depend on the terms of the lease, but I would not be surprised if you are correct.

If that is the case though, why hasn't he done so already?   It's not as if its a new problem. :dontknow:

Be nice in such a case if they found their way into designated bins, to be picked up by a masked and gloved individual………but would there be a temptation in some quarters , to share them with the away dug out or an opposition player who earns the crowd’s displeasure and then FA action and sanctions may follow. Maybe a few mock hawks could fly from the top of the stand.(?)
