Chairmans comments after last night

Want to thank our fans for their support last night - I know it is tough at the moment but am doing everything possible to turn it around.

Such as? If there's no longer the money to support the Club at this level, what can he do?   :dontknow:

I would guess a short term solution is to bow to the majority of the supporters demands and dismiss Hughes.

Hughes out, Coulson in?   :dontknow:

SC's were more concise than David Hilton's official statement at Scunthorpe - https://www.scunthorpe-united.co.uk/news/2023/september/official-statement-from-club-chairman-david-hilton/

Lots of very worrying figures in there for a step 2 club which looks like it has fallen too far, too quickly without adjusting to it's circumstances.  Whilst many here, myself included, have long argued for more development of off-field infrastructure at the Walks, not sure any of us would want to see those sorts of figures, in terms of number of personnel or £s.  Leaving aside Mr Hiltons past, really just another indication of how football is 'broken'.

Sounds very much like he was sold a real pup here.  Due diligence springs to mind.  Why would anyone take on a Club with all that debt ? £3 sounds expensive.

Has anyone ever actually seen the true financial affairs of Lynn...and does anybody know what Mr Cleeve does for a living in his day job.

I thought SC was into selling cleaning and odour reducing products etc.  Might be handy going forward.

Doesn't he also own a company that sells football memorabilia?

Collect Soccer Memorabilia if still trading. Renowned for being the most expensive memorabilia company around at the time.

Were you ever asked for advice regarding the planned concert's at the Walks?

You're the only one that I know of who has experience of staging such an event at the Walks, and I know you have been involved in other events locally in the past over the years.

As a valuable font of knowledge on this subject, was it ever tapped into?

Going forward if SC can get something going on outside concerts at The Walks for next season that could well be the thing to push the Club to the next level.  Think it was something like 4 events that he can put on.  Get that moving and could be the biggest money spinning events the Club has ever seen.

Has anyone heard any whispers to whom  Stephen Cleeve has been looking to perform at The Walks next season ?  I guess the events will happen May/June giving the pitch a chance to recover before the new season kicks off.

Tesco’s multi packs could take a big hit

Yes approached and answered that i would not do them myself but would help anyone interested in doing them. Andy from Ikon then discussed to start with smaller events in the Blue and Gold with all profits going to the club. SC came up with a FEE to hire the B&G (although putting on for the club) so subsequently knocked on the head and a non starter.
On another occasion i asked SC, on an employees behalf ,cost to hire the B&G for his 60th. Substantial fee quoted which i said was far to much. The reply was that includes MY (SCs) DJ, to which i said he has his own DJ thank you. Answer was wel,l that is an extra £50 for using the required DJ to plug into the electrics. Subsequently NOT booked.
For my B&G events, average evening would raise minimum £750 less cost of DJ. Special nights such as NYE £1500 less DJ. The club kept the bar take. Noi charge to use the B&G.
Marquee saturday night minimum £4000 less cost of DJs or DJ and band. Club had the bar take. The marquee was paid by the club who only were going to use it on a friday night so i asked if i could use on the saturdays so as not to stand empty. Sundays i did do one all dayer following on from the saturday but apart from that were used for END OF SEASON Presentation days charging supports £5 that included a buffet. When the Presentations were later held in the Blue and Gold supporters paid £5 but no food/disco instead.

There is so much that could be done such has sports night with ex footballers and a comedian at my previous club we had several of these plus many other events to raise money it’s sad that we aren’t using any of these events like this ,you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink
