Another loss
« on: September 23, 2023, 04:58:06 PM »
Well another 3 points gone, how much longer can our chairman afford to allow this to go on. Stick with this manager and assistant and watch the attendances plummet therefore losing more money, or part company and presumably pay up the contract, either way a no win for the chairman, but I know from a fan’s point of view, which is the preferred option.
What blah blah blah will the interviews have in them after another defeat. We as a side are toothless.

Hughes is not good enough full stop he should never have been given the job in the first place , he’s got to go now before we are completely down there with no hope

Listened to commentary, never looked like scoring. Heads down from players according to radio, how much longer do we have to endure this apathy.

First meaningful effort in the 86th minute.

For me it just shows how much reliance there was, in an attacking sense, in some of those that left.

Very little attacking threat at the moment.

If the club is short of cash, paying off the manager isn't really an option....there will be even less in the kitty or more on the debt.

If we could exchange Barrett, Stephens and Ponticelli for one recognized goalscorer, I personally would do it.......but given their form , it's probably not possible.

Not sure, also if it's possible to go to a hybrid/part time model part way through a season.......but the club is in a pickle, so some thinking outside of the box may be required.

Club is in the worst mess since SC took over.  Only one person to blame and that’s the man himself.   Hughes is out of his depth, that’s for sure.  Maybe then so is Cleeve.  His comment about he’s doing everything he can to sort.... Yet Hughes gets another go.  Another week wasted.  Coming up to 25% of the season nearly done.

Well done Mr Cleeve you can hold your head up, for the mess you have put this Club in.  No Spirit, no soul, no leadership.   What one big unholy mess.

Hughes may not be up to the job but it was the Chairman's decision to appoint him.

His record at appointing (and removing) Managers appears not to be too good.

So if Hughes goes, will it really do a lot of good? Plus side is that it would probably keep the supporters at bay for a couple of weeks but downside is that it would almost certainly cost the club money that it doesn't appear to have.

Interesting comment!

I wonder if we will hear something along those lines soon.

Apparently Barrett alone is valued at 100k   :dontknow:

How can anyone have any faith in Cleeve’s appointments.   He &!?,.;  Setch over big time.  Clark ... oh dear don’t get me started... Widdrington done Cleeve up like a kipper.  Came to Lynn got big bucks to spend, built a squad ( ultimately failed) then jumped ship as soon a bigger fish came knocking.    Cully was his saving grace but he even ballsed that up when he quit, only for Backie to get him back.   Now we have Hughes.  How much effort went into getting a replacement before SC went for a soft, cheap option ?

£100k....That may be Mr Cleeve's valuation but i would be amazed if there is anyone out there prepared to pay anywhere near that. More money than sense and some?!

Where was Barrett today….we can only guess. No info from club on anything really just when we get other clubs loan players.

Football is all about money.

If you've got more than the others, the chances are you will "succeed".

If money rather than infrastructure has been the driving force over previous seasons, this is what happens when it dries up.

Of course, we are only assuming that it's dried up. We haven't had that confirmed.

Should look at getting a player coach/manager with someone who has lower League experience and who is looking for a stepping stone.

B&G I seem to recall that SC said the budget was 10% less than last season.  Hover when you factor inflation in it actually stacks up at just shy of 20%.

Is SC just looking to muddle along in the vain hope that a white knight on a charger will be be desperate to take on a Club in Norfolk with debts on its books of that magnitude?   I really can’t see then queuing for that one.

At least when Chapman sold it to Cleeve it was clean and debt free.

Will Cleeve offer the same courtesy to anyone wishing to buy it ?
