Don't want to be over negative on the back of a tough trip to one of the better sides in the league.

Quite a challenge for AL in terms of recruitment......has said he needs men not boys but so difficult to pick up useful players, especially forwards at this stage of the season. There's been very little goal output from Barrett, Stephens, Ponticelli, Bartley and Cybulski so far, but must be difficult to offload and bring in forward players.

Do Fleetwood have any decent forwards I wonder.........also must be worth giving one or two of the young local forwards a start while the other forward players are misfiring.......what's to lose ?

Backie is the Clubs Loan Manager. Perhaps he is chasing a decent forward at this very moment.

He may be a 'boy' but surely it is worth giving Royle the chance to prove himself at this level?
He cannot be much worse than the current bunch in front of goal??

To be fair to the new Manager he has inherited a situation( I’m being kind here) of a summer of absolutely pee poor summer recruitment.

Tuesday night has all the hallmarks of a ‘must win’ game.  Team one below us and on the back of a 4-1 home stuffing on Saturday.  We need 3 points.  Will give AL a 50% win record from his opening 4 games.

Think we will see a big turnover of players as the season progresses.  We not only need a striker (or two) but we need to offload maybe 2/3 of what we have in that department.  Trouble is where do we find a 20 goal a season striker in November ?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I think that you are probably correct on this one. Lets just hope that the decision as to which players leave is based on ability and fitting into the formations the Manager desires, rather than just which ones have the highest pay packet.

Also, that any lower cost options we have on board are up to the job.

Trouble is where do we find a 20 goal a season striker in November ?

In fairness, without breaking the bank, that's a very difficult job at the best of times.

Think it would as a trade off.  The squad is too big with a few players who won’t be getting game time. So off loading a few of those to bring in a striker who can keeps us at step 2 seems a fair trade off.

IF we were to get relegated it would change the whole dynamics of the Club.

The big question. If players are off loaded, would it be to save money or to divert the money into signing a Striker.   :dontknow:

It could be suggested that after the playing side took a hit in terms of budget at the start of the season  that the Chairman has realised his error and brought the budget back up to bring in 3 players, so far.

A reduced budget coupled with a poor choice of Manager by Mr Cleeve has resulted in us being in a relegation position.

If we play Fatadjo, Stevens, Ponticelli up front, with Barrett, Hargreaves, and one other attacking midfielder (I don’t know the newbies), then defend in numbers when necessary, we’ll score goals AND keep the opposition down to a minimum of chances.  Honest!!!
