Rushall Olympic

Another away trip…another point would be good. Let’s not get carried away but just be realistic. We need injured folk back and need to scrap for everything until then and maybe even after.

I get that we have a few injuries ( goes with the territory).  Just not quite getting who these injured players would replace when fit ?   Apart from Barrett the others wouldn’t be guaranteed starts, would they ?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

I think Hughes comfortably gets into our 'best' XI, it's all well and good talking about how well Morrison learns from his mistakes but Hughes is at least a year or two ahead of him development wise imo.  Appreciate Cybulski is playing well and improving but we have no one pushing him or available should his form dip so need Ponticelli back in the mix.  Dixon Hughes is a tricky one as it always looked strange to double up with two very capable keepers when there were clearly gaps elsewhere in the squad, for me Jones is playing as well as ever but maybe that is down to him being tested more than last year with how those in front of him have been playing.

With AL so far bringing in only a couple of young loaners it would seem he is content with the squad he has to work with.   In truth I would have expected him to shake things up a bit more.

Results for sure have improved under Adam, but after his opening 6 games we still find ourselves in the drop zone.

Apparently not (see new thread), I think we have to appreciate the stage of the season and where we are both geographically and in the pyramid means AL will have to work hard to bring new players in that he wants and equally shifting players out isn't straightforward or without cost.  The club have issued an update on those out on loan, but these are mainly u23s https://www.kltown.co.uk/2023/11/07/players-out-on-loan-update/

Well that was a late winner, calmly tucked away by Cybluski.   Excellent 3 points on the road.  Strange League this.  We now sit 5th bottom yet only 4 points outside the play off zone.  Go figure !

I'm an exiled Linnet (in Birmingham) and attended the game last night.  It was a very good performance  Thought we started very brightly and looked better team but without too much end product.  Rushall then came into the game and pegged us back a bit and eventually got a scrappy goal.  Second half we played very patiently moving the ball about and stretching them.  Eventually it told and Stephens (who was excellent) scored  a great headed goal from Jones cross.  Jones caused them a lot of problems down the left as the game went on.  The new lad Rogers made a difference when he came on.  he has an inventiveness that we were otherwise lacking and I think it was his pinpoint pass that put Stephens in to win the penalty after the keeper took him down in the box.  At this point we were really turning the screw and much the better team.
Wasn't Bart's best night in my opinion and a decent second striker option from the bench would have helped.  To be fair he took the pen with great composure though and that is not to be sniffed at.
Overall really encouraging, and the table looks climable now.
