The visiting media team don't seem to be impressed with the facilities they have been given.

Read SC’s EDP Column this morning where once again he was bemoaning the lack of numbers coming through the gate.  Surely he has to be happy with a gate of 800 ?   I would suggest that’s not bad for a Club struggling at the wrong end of the table charging top dollar.

If the gates aren’t enough to pay for this level of Football and sC seems to have thrown the towel in with regard to commercial activity.  Then what’s the the alternative other than SC having to fund it from his own pocket ?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

The Chairman is right to be concerned about the number coming through the gate. I would think that today's figures are about 300 short on what he believes he needs to fund the Club at this number.

The foundations for Commercial activity/income should have been laid from day one, so it could be  paying dividends now. Supporters could always see that, even if Management and Officials couldn't (wouldn't?).

As it is, we are relying on generated income via gates receipts. As from day one, any shortfall  is made up by the Benefacter.

Now it seems the Benefactor models desperately needs another Benefacter (or as others call it, an Investor).

Cleeves EDP article needs to be read, even though some of it is just going over the same things again.

From reading the article it appears that financially we are still punching far above our weight, and even with a reduced budget, outgoing's are far more than generated income.

The world has changed a lot since Cleeve took over and getting money in, from any source, is more difficult than it was six years ago.

I do wonder how long he is prepared/able to fund his dream.   :dontknow:

The article seemed to lack SC’s normal bravado.  It came across as its all the fan’s fault that they are not turning up in sufficient numbers.  Surely this has always been the case.?

Mr Cleeve came in with big ambitions. He knows from his time in charge what the gate receipts are going to look like.  It was always going to mean him making up the shortfall.  The downside of the single benefactor model.

As for getting a Benefactor in, who would be up for sticking a boat load of cash into the Club for SC to continue to run it in its current form ? That would be madness

The way lots of Clubs are run, IS madness.
