Lynn FC website
« on: December 11, 2023, 12:23:56 PM »
Do fellow contributors have opinions on the club’s website? Whoever is in charge of updating it is clearly not doing a particularly good job. The lead item is still flagging up the postponed match on Dec 2, when in fact Lynn play the rearranged fixture tomorrow night. The pen pictures of the first team squad are missing many faces and still include the on-loan player Lynn manager sent packing for not showing up several weeks ago.
The new administrator appointed a fortnight ago does not warrant a mention and Jodie is included in the list, although the general opinion on this forum is she has moved on.
I don’t like to be too negative when making the occasional contribution to the forum but I think the website is letting the supporters down and shows the club in a amateurish light.

Just the website ?  I would suggest this is  just one item on a long list
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Communication from the club to supporters (customers) is at best pathetic. Still, look on the bright side: it cannot get much worse?

Fair enough, but that's no excuse for the website not to be updated.

If they want a website, surely its not unreasonable for supporters to expect it to be kept up to date. If they don't want it updated, maybe they should consider taking it down.   :dontknow:

Wasn't it said that due to lack of volunteers, this (and other areas) are now "paid for" position?

Very rarely read or respond to posts on the forum but.....

Can only talk from when I was a volunteer on media side. There was always a match preview & report for games (even if sometimes limited). There was usually a round up of other weekend games (Ladies, reserves/u21) and squad information was updated as and when.

As a volunteer I was often criticised for not putting on stories that chairman had put in programme and/or EDP column but would often be a case of reading them at the same time as everyone else.

However, I believe the media team are still all volunteers (they may get away travel etc covered)....and the chairman seems happy with this as mentioned in one of his programme notes earlier this season, which seems to be how he wants to work it. They have other full times job, as I did, which should take priority. I offered my services towards end of last season to help with reports etc and was told it's all in hand.

Actual matchday coverage is better in my view.

Going back to the first post - there is a story on website re James Shilling be appointed. Just have to go to the News section

We seem to suffer from a high turnover in terms of Media and Commercial teams. Is it something in the water, lack of ability or the main man being a difficult person to satisfy ?  As a former helper Jamie, who is it so in terms of the Media side ?

Not so long back we had Reg heading up the media side which included Pre and post match interviews.  Plus interesting stories and up todate news filtering through on social media.  Now it seems a certain amount of apathy all around the Club.

Will be interesting to see the crowd tomorrow night.  Does anyone know of the Chairman is back from his trip to find investment ?

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Mallard - all I will say is that I never had an issue with the chairman personally and he was very understanding and indeed helpful when I had to stand down from the role.

 :laughcry: :laughcry: :laughcry:

So the best up to date info over the last week is.................its a long time without football..................Banbury match has been arranged for Tuesday ...............two sleeps to next match.........and that's the best the club can do to encourage supporters to feel connected over the last week.......that's pretty poor in my book for any standard of professional football.......but for a full time outfit in the NLN it's beyond poor.........and Colin I couldn't agree more with your comments re the website.

I like to remain positive, as I suspect things are tough all round at the club at the moment......but you have to connect with the fan base if you want them to feel part of it and you want them to turn up. Honestly, to me it's as if the club is on its last legs, the way the media side is. .......it's a complete turn off. I was thinking possibly 3 matches at The Walks this month, but I am not sure I will do one....just feel completely disconnected....for me it's one sleep till an evening by the fire with a good drink and a film and a quick look at football scores at 10 pm.

I will be very surprised if the crowd is above 700 tomorrow night

I wouldn't be surprises if a 2-1 home defeat to fellow struggles in front of only 604 spectators, will be the least of our worries over the next few weeks.

Seems SC has been away for sometime looking for investment and with his business acumen should see some change.

One does sense that we maybe reaching a tipping point where something significant is brewing. New investment would appear necessary if the model of full time and all that that entails together with aspirations of moving up the pyramid are to be maintained. If new investment doesn't arrive things would appear to be very difficult.

Investment trip at what massive cost? Bet it wasn't a budget airline, budget hotel, McDonalds or KFC to eat. Who financed that? No doubt a lot of debtors hopefully are wondering the same. SC has never been frightened about going tits up in the past and who he takes with him, why would it bother him now?
His attitude has always been that KLTFC are the Chelsea of Non League. They are not even Chelmsford! and while he is at the helm with a single oar we are up the creek without a paddle.
I am just so happy that my ledger card re KLTFC reads £0.00 balance.

How much longer can the club last on these gates?
