Blue and Gold Supporters' Trust
« on: January 04, 2024, 08:54:16 PM »
Could someone please enlighten me on where the Trust stands in all this?

Are they raising money to bolster their coffers in the very likely event of the town needing to start yet another reincarnation? Would a recruitment drive for new members be in order?

500 new members donating £50 apiece would bring in £25000 to get things started - I for one would be up for it. Having given hard-earned cash to the club at every begging bowl request I am no longer prepared to do so until the owner shuts the door behind him and hands the keys of our beautiful non-league ground back to the Council. Peter has cried wolf too many times. A donation now to the B&G Trust will help for the future of a more United club - Kings Lynn United? A donation to the current regime will just serve to prolong the agony.

Are we really at that stage yet ?   SC must still be working behind the scenes to come up with the £300k shortfall.  Though he hasn’t posted on X yet and won’t do so till he has some positive news.

With the new investors lined up for the summer ( hopefully) and the new scheme to make good the shortfall next season ( as per his last podcast), then maybe he can find that money to get the Club through to the season end.  He must have Irons in the fire as it seems he’s not thrown in the towel just yet. Maybe friends and family are looking at ways they can help him get to the summer.
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Nothing for the Trust to comment on yet. It's all rumour and speculation. Might be different next Friday, after  Caney's Corner becomes Cleeve's Corner.

It's Caney, not Carney.

Carney, Caney, Potatoe potato.

Has Cigar’s idea got any legs ? Not sure £25k buys you much in terms of a full time Non League Club.

I feel that if the club does go tits up again there will be an increase in trust membership as there was last time? :dontknow: :scarf: :scarf:

I've just read Caneys open letter to Cleeve, and Hearles comments in the YLP, regarding Cleeves social media blackout.

Guess the people that he used to count on the fingers of one hand that "had his back", has reduced dramatically recently.

Whereas the questions now being raised may be valid, the Chairman's approach to the current problem is no different to what it's always been. Why didn't people speak up sooner?

What I can't understand is why someone that was always prepared to back the Chairman 100%, now chooses to criticise him!

If people in positions at the Club had stood up to him earlier, rather that just tipping their hat to him so as not to jepodise their position, then maybe things would not have got this bad.

Some were happy to take the Kings shilling when it suited them.  You only have to listen to Cleeve’s early podcasts.  Now it looks more a case of running with the Hare yet hunting with the Hounds.

With the todays article and confidence there is going forward, something appears to have been forgotten.

Why were staff at the Walks dismissed last week?

Maybe it’s a precursory to the new banqueting suite where silver service staff will be needed.
