McAvoy leaves

Great Yarmouth have announced on Twitter in the last hour that they have re-signed Declan McAvoy.

A "change in personal circumstances" is cited.

Almost rivals Spriggsy's stay at Boston! Maybe now Frohawk might be given a reasonable chance to prove himself?!

Maybe one of the Young Reserve team players has shown up in pre-season and Setch would prefer to give a local kid his chance.

Who from the Reserves has been getting run outs with the first team? There might be the answer

I don't understand how a player can be fairly assessed when they only get the odd 5 or 10 minutes - though I suppose this is better than in earlier times when an assessment was made in the pre match warm up!!

Not exactly what I heard!

A change in personal circumstances has seen McAvoy, son of Norwich City assistant manager Frankie McAvoy, re-sign for the Bloaters on a non-contract basis.

A statement on the Yarmouth website said: “Declan will be returning as a non-contracted player and returns to a much changed Bloaters squad which has seen eight summer additions. Everyone associated with Great Yarmouth Town is delighted to have the big Scotsman back on our books. Dec is a great character to have around, when offered the opportunity to have him back we snapped it up.”

Bunn's most amusing moment in a Lynn shirt would have been winning a penalty away at Hitchin. The goalkeeper took him out in the area, then needing several minutes of treatment because Bunn fell on him.  :laughcry:

He was a Taylor signing. A replacement for Dean "he looked good in the warm up" Whittaker.

Thinking about it, we could start a new thread for players that vanished without a trace. Both of those would be on it, along with Jermaine Brown (a striker from Boston) who missed the bus to Folkestone after we signed him and was never seen again.
