What a good idea, more than one person putting in money, (or directors loans) not just one know all making all the decisions, less chance of appointing the wrong managers for the  job in hand. Let’s hope they do well and set a good example :comeon:

I wish them well. Sounds as if they are attempting to create something that really engages with and involves the community, to their mutual advantage: rather than it being all 'one way traffic'?!

I don't think you will see a many people putting a lot of money in. Time will tell, but I don't think that's what they are all about.

I believe its more a case of exploiting the clubs revenue potential, and hopefully have people in charge that appeal to the supporters and know what they are doing. All having a common interest in supporting the club in a sustainable manner.

Good luck to them.

Impressive interview with Grant Holt on Radio Norfolk this morning.  What a contrast to our club, talked about community, youth development, money not the key and whilst it would be good to see the 1st team progress there was an element of what will be, will be and no mention of football league in five years or masses of financial doping

Realistic and refreshing.

Good for a Club like Dereham to bring in an ambassador/figurehead to take the Club forward.  Maybe it’s something that our own Club could consider.  Maybe it would attract match day sponsorship to the club.  Something it seems we struggle with.

B&G didn’t you do some sponsorship over at Dereham last year ?
What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it’s all about ?

Naturally there was no talk of progressing into the Football League at Dereham.  And not much development of young players needed either, as they just need to attract the better youngsters from the area.  We needn’t have the same plans as Dereham as we need much higher ambitions - or did have at one time.  Unfortunately our ground and professional organisation off-field has made no progress since the 50s, despite the recent success of the Steven Cleeve years.  He expected the club to grow with and after the early successes of his tenure, but it hasn’t, and I fear, probably never will.

Sustainable progressive growth needs to be underpinned by a a solid foundation and infrastructure.

Yes we did. Never heard anything from  them once money was paid. These Clubs need to understand that times have changed. They need to engage with their sponsors all through the season, not just when they hope the sponsorship deal is due for renewal. They need to work with the sponsors to promote their business, not just hope a pitch side board or an ad in a program is enough.

Obviously the more the business earns from the sponsor, the more likely they are to increase sponsorship levels. A case of Clubs needing  to be commercial.

I get the impression it's a bit of a mess down there. Let's hope the Consortium are given the chance to sort it out.
