Fleetwood did exactly the same thing with Devonport, signed him from Accrington Stanley (who are they?) then loaning him straight to us https://www.fleetwoodtownfc.com/news/2024/january/devonport-signing-for-development-squad/
What has happened to " THE INVESTMENT"
So Maradona and Messi both won it by themselves Dilly ? Both World class no question. However they had other players keeping the opposition out at the other end. With Europe leading the way on a World level maybe we would be better looking at Countries like Portugal where the infrastructure drops off a Cliff outside the top two leagues. They have produced the odd player who could play a bit Dill

KLTFC don’t have Messi or Maradona on their books so just get real, the manager has to pick the best he can according the opposition and the players he has.
Linnet 465- It’s the type of player I mean, of course, not the actualise! It I take your point, and agree the manager can only pick his best players. He didn’t, however, and Barrett is the prime example. Mall is right that a team have to stop the others scoring, but these days that is done with numbers, not mere defenders. Most teams get 10 men, or at least 9, behind the ball. If you want to see how “good” football works, Leverkusen in Germany look to Dilly like the best team since Barcelonas GOAT teams for about 10 years. Sure beats”winning fouls”, or “doing little fouls all over the pitch” as a way of playing most likely to win…
